What is the best CTD for a swap?

Does anyone have, or know where I can get a tool to make those "beads" found on the end of steel/copper/aluminum lines? You know the ones that are made to slip a hose over so that they won't pop back off?

Alternatively, I need someone to give me a crash course on Aeroquip hoses and fittings. I don't know how these "AN" sizes correspond to all the other stuff and I need to know what size AN is the same as 3/8" and 5/16".

TIA!

For the flare to keep hose on a tube, you could just put a standard flare on the end, using a tool similar to this:

Most auto parts store have something similar to these.

This page has a chart and explains how the AN hose came about.

this page has a lot of good info for performance lines.

You could go flare to pipe then to barb but better just to flare it and get a hose with flared ends. If it is low presure ( like fuel retun line ) just push the hose on farther and double hose clamp it.
