Dumb Question About Mirrors 1st Gen Mirrors...

I just bought a 92 that has these homemade looking camper mirrors that I want to replace. It originally had the chrome power mirrors. Are the power mirrors from 94 - 97 the same as the 1st Gen? They sure look the same but want to make sure before I buy some. Thanks in advance.

The actual mirror may be the same, but they attach completely differently. Ours go through the door, as most older truck mirrors did. The 2nd Gens are mounted in the bottom corner of the vent window, only they don't have a vent window.



You can't swap one for the other. Other than the mirrors, how are you liking the new toy?

Thanks for the info! I am in the middle of MN and the truck is near Grand Rapids, MI and I haven't picked it up yet. Going to go get it this coming weekend Oo. I think I am more excited for this then when I bought the 05

I agree i bought a 93 simply because i was tired of NOT being able to listen to that beautiful 12-valve music after getting my new 04. 5.

Happy for you MN Cummins, I, like you 2 months ago couldn't wait until I got my new '92, and I become more proud of it after each thing I do to it, I love these old trucks, I wanted one when they were new just couldn't afford it then, now I've got 2,03-92, had to drive chevy's until I got my Dodge's, gee if it wasn't for my chevy's I had , I wouldn't be the Mechanic I am today LOL. And these 1st Gen guys are just as good if not the best group of guys on TDR, no 2nd and 3rd Gen guys take no offense, H$%L I'm a 3rd Gen guy, but these trucks started what they are today, sorry I'm rambling, just my 2c.
