I'll believe that. My co-workers and I drove back to Dallas from Las Cruces, NM after 9/11. We spent about the same amount of time on the road as some other guys I work with who were in Georgia at the time. They managed to cross three states and we didn't even make it across one.



I must say... . not much to see out in West Texas in the middle of the night.

Without the polution of the city lights,I think west Tx and New mexico are awsome to see at night. Just pull over in a safe place and look up. Don't get to see that in too many places nowadays. Every time I do,I say to myself" I need to do this more often".

It's even more fun to fly over it and look down at night. I have driven it a few times to CA but much prefer flying over it when I had my own plane. Much faster and less boring.

West Texas

I grew up in West Texas in the small town of Fort Davis, with less than 1000 population. if your ever in the west part down by FT. Davis, Marfa, and Alpine stop over at a little rest stop between Marfa and Alpine and you mite see the Marfa lights! Its some really Awsome country.
