Jcro, I have done 2 of the 47RE rebuilds and after looking at the dunrite kit I decided to let someone else modify the VB. There is a lot of drilling and what not to the VB for the kit. I mean if it was just some vavle changes and spring changes I would have done it. Not saying you can't do it, but I just thought there was a lot of potential places for me to make a mistake on the VB.

Could you share with us why you beleive the ATS torque convertor is the most innovative design and how it differs from the other tripple disc convertors. Tia.

i'm sure all of the triple disc converters are pretty well matched as far as materials used and design - just ask the manufacturer . i think the ats has more innovation because of its newly designed "mixed flow" stator. it was a great converter before, and the new design of the stator (reportedly) doubles the torque multification on the low side.

Well I have one Tony's transmissions with one of his expermantal TQ and that was 100k miles ago still running like a top with 300rwhp. I did have a problem shifting at the wrong time so I put on of Bill K's electronic fooling boxes on.

I'VE HAD THE COMPLETE transmission REBUILD WITH THE DUNRITE TRIPLE LOCK CONVERTER AND AM REALLY HAPPY WITH IT. I TOOK OUT ANOTHER (WHAT THEY CALLED DOUBLE LOCK) CONVERTER THAT WAS TERRIBLY OUT OF BALANCE AND USED IT AS A CORE WHEN I INSTALLED THE DUNRITE CONVERTER. DUNRITE, I BELIEVE, HAS THE BEST WARRANTY ON THEIR PARTS. MY transmission IS 3 YRS. OR 100k MILES AND THE CONVERTER IS LIFETIME WARRANTY. I'M NOT SURE IF THATS ON THE CONVERTER OR MY LIFE? BOUGHT MINE FROM "SOURCE AUTOMOTIVE" IN PORTLAND OREGON AND AM REALLY HAPPY WITH THE SERVICE AND RIP STANDS BEHIND EVERYTHING HE SELLS. THIS CONVERTER LOCKS UP SO TIGHT IT WILL STALL THE ENGINE IF YOU DON'T UNLOCK IT BEFORE COMING TO A STOP. SO FAR 15000 MILES I LIKE THE transmission AND CONVERTER.
