o.k. just a mention

Hi. .

i put some of this stuff in our {wife's} Durango last week when she last filled up, without telling her, last night i casually mention how's the mileage on our/your car, she mention that it's only 1/2 tank, and that she's getting better mileage, then she said... "o. k. what did you put in it", as i stood there with a grin, told her what i bought and put in tank, and that when she fills up again to write down the number's, so we can see what the results are... Oo.

so i'm a believer... ... ... ... ... .

thanks

dave

On my last couple of bottles of Stanadyne... so watching this thread.

Waiting for more reports.

Does anyone know if this boosts the cetane rating at all?

Kat if you haven't gone to there site http://www.buyduralt.com/ read all about it. I will be on the third tank of it when I fill my truck up Tuesday. You will see a increase in mpg. It has increased mpg in my daughters car more than my truck or VW. My wife put it in her Accord two wks ago but hasn't filled it up but I look to see an increase too. It works. And it don't cost as much as Amsoil additive. On there site it says it increases cetane by as much as 2. 5 numbers.

Well, I made it back from Albuqueque. Mileage on the round trip was 19. 9 MPG. There was a storm in both directions and the wind was in my face. It must be close to Amsterdam. They say that if you ride your bike around a block in Amsterdam, the wind will always be in your face. The wind was about 30-40 MPH. I could have traveled the entire trip on one tank of fuel. I am very impressed with Duralt. Will purchase more next time, only I think I'll get the $144. 00 case with 16 oz bottles. I can divide up an ounce per fill up. Then I can put it into the other cars I have.

Blair

I'm pretty happy with it myself. Use it on the farm so bought the 16 bottle case 1st time, used 3 already. Bulk tank mixing. Been using it in everything including the kids 4 wheeler. Used to crank my butt off on that thing, starts 2nd pull every time now. I'm sold on it, along with my dad, who still can't believe 16 oz treats 400 gallons of diesel. The old treatment he always used (Cen-Pen Co) took a gallon per 400 of diesel. Mileage is up a little in everything I've put it in.

Thanks, I rummaged around on the site before I made that post, but at 2am I was kinda quickly "skimming" the website... ..... and didn't see the answer.

I might order some and see what happens.

I am truly glad

Guys,

I am truly glad that some results are coming in... ... ... You not only benefit with increased mileage but some of you are noticing other performance gains... ... . Quieter... ... more power... ... . easier starts... ... not just in our trucks but everything else we own... ... . BONUS... ...

I like it when a plan comes together... ...

I like it even BETTER when it's my plan... ... lol

I wish I could reach the other 11,000+ TDR members so we could all enjoy this... ... tell a friend or fellow TDR member... ... . I've noticed some of you guys have been spreading the word and that's great... ... ..... keep up the good work... .....

Thanks Eric for turning our heads toward this product. It has been great. If I only get 2 MPG extra, that's an extra 70 miles per tank, divide that by 18 MPG that I currently get and that means I am saving about 4 gallons extra with each tankfull. At $1. 40 per gallon, I am saving about $5. 60 each time I fill the tank. So it costs about $0. 80 cents per ounce, so the real savings are $4. 80 per tank. That's money in my pocket and not in the atmosphere. Good stuff. Now to find some heavy trailers to drag around town to seat the rings and valves. They say we need to exercise the engine by loading it up and pull heavy weights for a couple hundred miles.

Anybody got anything to post?

I haven't had a similar trip to compare lately... ... ... Anybody have any results?

Eric

On the fourth tank

With Power Service additive, I averaged 16. 3 MPG with combination city and highway mileage. First three tanks of Duralt were highway ONLY with 14. 9 MPG. I will give it a couple more tanks to prove itself. Otherwise, I'll put it in the Wife's rig. If it doesn't improve the MPG on the 460, I probably won't buy any more of it.

Anyone have anymore results to post? I am trying to make a descision here on what to buy next... ... . I need some more input...

Thanks

Jason

OK I'll try it

After reading all the posts on this stuff - I placed an order -hopefully it makes a difference in mileage. I'll let you know after I've tried it a few times. .

I sent Duralt an email a few weeks ago asking for more info on thier product. They emailed me a response with an attachment of a bulletin about cetane. Very interesting reading. Does anyone know how I can post the attachment file they emailed me? My computer operating system is Windows XP home edition and I'm using the latest version of Microsoft Outlook Express. The file is in Microsoft Word format. I have scanned it with the latest and greatest Norton 2002 antivirus updates and it's clean of any viruses, etc.

So what did they say ? Is it worth buying and trying ?

No improvement here

I have now ran 8 tanks of duralt. No improvement in fuel mileage for my truck. Actually, I get less MPG with duralt than power service. Also, I have noticed a longer required exhaust cool-down time.

Not flaming. Like Joe Friday, "just the facts".

me4osu,

I saw that you mentioned in a few previous posts (other threads) that you had a drop in mileage from the Duralt. If I were you I'd call Leonard @ Duralt and mention this to him. I'd like to know what's causing that. Perhaps he'll take back the remaining product if you're not pleased... ... ... . I'm very curious about your circumstances and results... ... ... I have had positive results with Duralt and others share the same positive results. If anybody has had negative results PLEASE make us aware of it.

I do think that some other occurance is effecting your mileage though... ... ..... Just a few questions:

1. Are you buying the same fuel from same place? Same quality/grade?

2. When are you due to change fuel filter or have you recently done so?

3. Have you had service performed @ dealer?... ... ... . Reflash?

Brakes?... ..... dragging?

4. Any modifications to turbo and or wastegate?... ... . Engine mods?

5. Have you checked your clamps/hoses for boost leaks?

6. transmission... ... . clutch slipping or A/T slipping?

7. Tire pressure? One or more tires low... ..... Dually inner tires

8. Air filter... ..... obstructions/dirty?

9. Have you backed into anything?... ... ..... bent/crushed/restricted exhaust/tail pipe?

10. 4 x 4? Transfer case malfunction?

11. Added any electrical accessories? High power stereo? or other power hungry devices?

12. Are both batteries up to par?... ... . What I'm getting at here is if the alternator is working harder to charge system... ... whether it's faulty or satisfying higher demands.

I know that I threw a lot @ you... ... . but there are reasons for everything... ..... sometimes the answer is a very simple one.

Eric

I have come to the conclusion that I don't need the duralt. Mileage is the same either way. With or without. Plus the squirter spout on the 2 oz bottles comes out pretty easy. I have two in my fuel tank. Do you think Leonard will pay to have them Removed... . I will give him back the stuff. I have 3 boxes of four bottles with self distruct caps.

Greg,

Sorry... ..... I just read your post... ... ... . You do know what caused the tops to drop in your tank? Right?

I haven't been on any trips as of late to post results... ... ... .

What about everyone else? Anything? Good or Bad?

Eric

duralt

i have been following this discussion carefully. i use the power service in the white/black jug from wallyworld. i average abt. 17. 5 to 17. 9 in combined city/ highway. for the sake of these comparisons i'm talking empty. i did put some duralt in my 'oo harley and probably noticed an extra 15 miles on a tank holding 4. 4 gal. middle june i am going from florida to pa and will use duralt in the tank prior to leaving and the entire round trip. this should give some somewhat fair idea if i will see any improvement ? bruce
