Mopar Diesels - Europe

Secret bombers party in the Pacific NorthWest?

I was just reading a little blurb in the new issue of Diesel

Progress and they talk about the Duramax 7800 being the

basis for the Duramax 6. 6L in the pickup trucks. The 7800

is a DI inline six and will be available in the C6500, C7500

and the C8500 series GM and Chevy trucks. It comes in seven

different hp ratings from 200 hp to 275 hp and 520 lb ft to

860 lb ft of torque at 1450 rpm. Isuzu says it has a B10 life

of 410,000 miles.

Is there anyone out there who has any experience with this

engine?

i wonder if the dmax 6600 and 7800 share injectors or are interchangeable:confused: . if the 7800 injectors are bigger than the 6600, that could be a future upgrade to the gm crowd with their dmax 6600's

the 7800 has been in the cab over chevys for a couple years. i don't remember too much about it... . i guess i could pull out the old literature...

7800...

The article mentioned that it had been used in the T-series for a

short time like around '97. I was just curious about some of the

details about it, is it parent bore or is it wet sleeve, etc. ?

This was the motor that was in the dumpster truck at my last job It was an isuzu FTR i think and was a COE I think it was a 98 model. it was rated at 230 hp and 520 torque. I don't think it is that great of an engine i think the power is way too low for an engine of this size. no match for a c-series.
