When I'm towing in congested areas, like on the freeway in town, I drive at the same speed as traffic in the right or center lanes so that I don't cause any congestion. If I am towing on the open highway where there is plenty of room to pass, I usually stay in the right lane between 60 and 65 to keep the MPG up. Even then I end up passing a bunch of slow-polks doing 55 or so.
