Dunno if I missed anything.

Can the 3rd gens keep up with there rival Duramax??

That is awesome numbers and dont care who you are. I want to see that truck drag a sled. :) :) Hopefully be a great show. Good job everyone involved. Now to save the money to make my truck do it whenever needed.

Can you run a 1000+rwhp daily driver? HHMMMMMMMMM!! :) :)

I think people should also remember that this is motor number two for this guy if I recall correctly. Motor number one didn't fair very well. Still very impressive.

Motor number one was a failure before it started. The machine shop cut the valve reliefs wrong and as a result the valves were hiting the pistons. All 8 had cracks and one split down the wrist pin.

The 3rd gens can do it too but it'll require some work. The Dmaxes have much better head flow going for them. What they dont have is the overall strength in the bottom end.

Maybe he will show up at DDP and run with some of the big boys,

Or even better do a 1000hp 4wheel launch for the camera, would love to see that front end

Perhaps but there have been several others engines that have cracks at a much lesser HP.

Sounds like the machinist was an idiot but other than that it sound normal for Don and Nathan as they have been re-inventing the wheel for years.

Now lets see how the transmission holds up!

The engine builder is also supposed to verify that the machine work is done correctly when the engine is assembled.

Looks like Don and Nathan had their stuff pretty squared away!

A 1000 hp is pretty bad, but I would still question the overall durabillity of the engine. anybody can spin to win on a dyno, but can it with stand a season of pullin? or evan draggin? They have a bad track record for high hp engines staying together, but I wish them the best since it would be neat to have some true brand wars in the higher hp competetion levels.

I think you know the answer to that one, Rod.

;)

Apparently most of the folks on the DP want that to be a cheerleading-only thread. If you watch the video, it's blowing a lot of steam at the end of the run. The owner stated that the injector cups (which are a LB7-only issue) were "lifting" and letting gases into the coolant channels in the head.

I asked a few questions and it was like I said the emperor had no clothes.

And until someone teaches me how you can diagnose internal motor problems without disassembling it, I say there's no way one can determine if it is injector cups or head gaskets.

I wasn't trying to be chief dark cloud or spread doubt, but many are already yapping about taking her to the "next level"... .

The truck is built like a dragracer, not a puller, so hopefully come spring we'll see how it lasts on the strip.

somehow I think if it windowed the block the same replies would be posted.

Its the fact that it made 1000+ Hp, not how reliable it will turn out to be...

Someone already said it. How often does stuff break on a dyno vs. on the strip or hooked to a sled, and its already puking coolant.

I would get some runs on the track with it at 1000+ before I got out my pom-pom's
