Yeah, but would you? :D

There'll always be a few souls with the mind to drive something like that, but I'm too busy taking cell calls, eating samwiches, swattin' at the kids...

And I have seen him drag race it as well! Plus Drive it halfway accross the country to dyno, but there are no big HP "Streetable" 12v's!

I can remember a while back when Richard and clint were in the same boat being ridiculed about dyno #'s and correction factors it ended up being forgotten, I have seen Richards truck make several runs down the 1320 and it is truely impressive, 1000 HP itself is truely impressive by anyones standards, I seen the video which doesnt look like its violent or anything special, (but im not saying that truck doesnt make serious power) If you can get a good run the 1/4 mile doesnt lie nor have CF's, I would love to see NASTY run it! Dynos can be altered and changed plus they all read diffrent the 1320 doesnt lie! Congrats for another great diesel milestone for those involved it is only going to get better for everyone cause we can all learn something from this!

The real test for streetability is, does he let his wife drive it?

:D

Why as a matter of fact I do. :D She went to the nursery the other day and came back with a bed full of plants, and mulch. I asked her how her 90 mile round trip was, and she said just fine with the exception of someone that kept tailgating her so in her words she said "I gave them a little smoke and they backed off" :-laf

Its obvious that shes not running 1000HP here but load the tunes and lets go racin!

YUP - those times for that HP really aren't too impressive - but probably wasn't all out, or else inexperienced - the reaction time looked pretty poor at the start.

Much of these HP wars is about who has the deepest pockets - and the final test is related to durability at those HP levels. High HP that blows up significantly more frequently than the competition is too costly for most guys.

All that said, the GM stuff is finally getting reasonably competitive in events formerly controlled by the Dodges, and that's not a bad thing - keeps the Dodge guys on their toes!

That was pre-kaplooey NastyGirl on some iffy tuning and pistons smacking the valves now and again... .

Not the current NG. A guy who was there and got a ride said it was dang quick, but AFAIK it's not been to the track. It's probably a bit chilly in Medicine Hat (whereverthehell that is :-laf )

950+HP and 2000ft lbs Duramax

I was at Bullydog last month for a dyno day. There were about 8 trucks there for a Diesel Power article. An 05 Duramax(pretty sure) made over 950 and 2000 lb ft. He had Nitrous and everything else. Needless to say he got first place. Damien Reece in his 01 dodge got second with 925. We got third (TV Diesel) with 761hp and 1423 2006 Mega Cab. The story will be in the April issue of Diesel Power.

how much into that truck with all the custom work 100K?

Nah, I don't think that much... just rough numbers here

ATS Extreme Allison $8000

Custom twin turbos $6000 (total guess)

Race ported heads $4000

Cam $1500

Custom injector nozzles: $1500 (???)

Twin CP3 pumps $4000

Billet Rods $3000

Machined LBZ pistons + pins, coated $2000 (?)

Plus assembly charges, miscellany, etc. , say $10k max (?)

$40k area sound about right? $50k max?

Dunno for sure but that's my WAG.

good job.

Why not show up to a national diesel event and dyno on a well known/accepted dyno such as Dave Dunbar's dynojet? Why drive all the way to a gasser trash/gas station/shop garage dyno??

I know from what I have read the last vid is with the last motor not the 1000hp but what is up with 2 12. 6or so runs then the last 13. 51 wow that is alittle inconsisent to me I have see dmax drag and never seen one that inconsistent.

Now to the 1000 hp dyno vid what is up there the turbo's barley get whistlen and the vid stops if that is all of it that is not no 1000hp dyno run.

And the reason CR dodge aren't up there is plain and simple programing. You have some one design efi live for the CR's and dodge will take over all over again.

i beg to differ that CR motors are not around 1000hp. you will hear of one at the end of March. it dynoed 893 at the wheels last year and i will bet it will be 1000hp if not more.

At 3500 rpm??? Or have they worked around the stock programming?

What do they know that everyone else doesn't on the CR?

just lots and lots of tuning and trying different things i guess. i know he was one of the first if not the first guy to have a CR motor with that much power. i know hey dynoed last year with 893 with No2 but he should be close if not past 1000hp this year and it should be on #2 only but dont quote me on that. he is also trying some VERY VER innovative things on a TURBO diesel engine. i am a good buddy of his and told him i woudnt say much about his truck but you guys should now him, Richard Brown, or better known as REB. he only lives 5 miles from my house and has helped me with my truck ENDLESS times. i just cant wait to see it on the dyno at the end of march.
