duramax ?

a buddy of mine just purchased a 2003 chevy duramax. does anyone no how many quarts of oil it takes. the chevy dealer didn't seem to sure.

Does it have an owners manual? I'd go by whatever it says.

Add oil till it comes to the top line of the dip stick. (The one on the engine, not the one behind the wheel )

I'm not 100% sure, but I really think the duramax takes 10 quarts... its been a while since the last time I did an oil change on a duramax...

ok thanks tkiser, i found a forum with liters. so i converted liters to quarts and came up with 10. 5 quarts. thanks everyone.
