Friends,

I was sad to read that Dusty Hill, bassist for ZZ Top, has passed away. ZZ Top was super cool, and Dusty rocked that base guitar. I've been a fan since high school in the 70s. Will be listening to their music over the next few days.

Hope there are some other fans on the TDR as well.

Heard the announcement on Classic Rewind about an hour ago on my way back home from HELLLLLLLLLLLanta. Sad to learn of his passing. I remember a bar in Richmond played tons of ZZ Top when I was at EKU.

On a sidenote.......MTV went on the air almost 40 years ago......August 1st, 1981.

ZZ Top had some reallllllllly cool videos on MTV during MTV’s infancy.

It is sad in his passing, I hope his death was peaceful. I listen to them and have a few of ZZ Tops on my play list.

What is really scary. I am only three months younger than Dusty Hill, I turn 72 on the 30 of July.

This guy was an awesome musician but he also had some serious addiction issues, along with some sexual battery complaints also. He was not a Saint.

Great loss for the many that had a chance to see them in concert, let alone heard them! Got a chance to see their After Burner Tour at the old Cap Center! That was a great place for indoor concerts! Was even better that HS graduation was held there! :D
RIP Dusty.....
