Suburban lift advice

4bt for sale ! any buyers?

Hi people,I have been reading through the threads for information on finding older chevy engine mounts for the cummins conversion. Auto World has been brought up, but several people don't think much of there product. Also there is good talk of people converting the frist generation dodge trucks motor mounts over with out much trouble. Has any one been through this before? Is there another dealer some one has in mind,or maybe Auto World is the way to go? THANKS! Dwey. (1975,GMC one ton 4by4)

The stuff I've seen in person that they built seemed like nice pieces. IMO

But I would also like to check out thier competition. If Im gonna spend $300 for a set of motor mounts I would like to see what else is available.

Anyone buy stuff from somewhere else ??

Hi there NYCEGUY01, I agree with you, it would be nice to see what is all out there, thanks for the help. I might have too chevy conversions that I would liked to do, the first one (for sure) is a 1975 GMC one ton 4 by 4 standerd doully, the second mite be a 1981 GMC one ton 4 by 4 singal wheel. I know these projects will be costly, but also making sure I able to build them right the first time. Again Thanks! If I can help at all Dwey.

Hi there PKirdy, nice chevy, you are doing a great job, thanks for the information on the motor mounts. You where saying that you had to install a hockey puck body lift for the newer rad and intercooler,if you had no intercooler and a rad that mite fit, does the body still need to be lifted to clear the cummins conversion?or the fire wall trimed to clear motor? I will be following your post, I have lots to learn. THANKS!DWEY.

I wanted my engine far back as possible for fan clearance. With a little more trans tunnel dimpling around the bellhousing bolts and the engine slightly more forward, it should work fine with no body lift.

If you want the best mounts for least hassels contact Soswalt here on tdr he builds mounts that will sit on the stock gm cradels ,just need to replace the rubbers with polturthane and some frame mods and some cab dimpleing and your set ,

I got pics or if your on the west coast ill in stall them for you

i got pics i can e-mail only to you unless there is a brite soul on here that has the kodak esy share digital cam that knows how to attach photos on here useing there program???

If any body needs mounts for old body style 73 to 91 ,crew cabs standard cabs and suburbans ,and full size blasers let me know as i can get you the

parts and templates needed for your conversions along with photos and instructions

Yes,I do sell the cummins engine mounts! Your stock frame angle mounts will need to be changed with 85-91 ,pre 85 had a different mounting for the stock rubbers bolted to or you can make a plate and drill some holes.

If your truck is a 4x4 then you'll also need my engine crossmember as well!

What Gm manual parts are you talking about ?? sm465,Nv4500 ?? p-30 adapter??

Thanks
