Hey guys just wanted to give you a heads up. I purchased an early set of these hubs and did the install in the first week of may of this year. From the beginning I had a problem when the hubs were engaged with the truck in TWO wheel drive. There was a growling noise from the hubs. I tried several things and was very careful to follow the directions to the letter. The noise went away and after about 1K miles I checked inside and found a lot of powdered metal and the Crown Cams were very worn on the ID. I cleaned everything very well and re-assembled the units and drove on ( the noise was back). I checked the units again after about 400 miles and found more powered metal in the hubs and even more wear on the inside of the Crown Cams. I called Dyna Trac and learned that there was a couple of "Bushings" missing from my kit. These bushings are intended to prevent the exact oproblem I was having. "Steve" at Dyna Trac told me that some of the early kits did not have these bushings and that they would ship my the bushings and a couple of Crown Cams and asked that I let them know of this fixes the prob. Also Rob at Dyna Trac described the wear pattern to me exactly and said that there was no need to send the worn Crown Cams back as he had seen this before.
Just a heads up on this. The only reason I ran in two wheel with the hubs engaged is to circulate the lube oil and work the "U" joints.
