The two most obvious observations are: One they are expensive and two they stick out 2. 5" from the wall of the stock tire.

That being said, the truck drives better. My truck now drives straight instead of always pulling to the right. I can't wait to drive on a long trip I can now momentarily look away from the road with out fear off drifting off the side. Before it was like the system had negative static stability. I would just think about moving in one direction and it would go. It was very touchy.

There is no noise from the front drive train and now I can actually hear tires (the little tire noise there is. ) Again, I'm hoping this will add to the long trip comfort. It seemed that there was some harmonic resonance around the 70-75 mph range before. It just seemed quieter.

Too soon to tell what improvements in milage, if any, I will get. I will post any improvements or the lack there of soon. Hand calculated of course!

It will take a while to get used to the stock tire look. I've put on 2" chrome lug nuts which helps. I might have to get new rims and definitely new wider tires I hope will also help the disproportionate look.

how long did it take you to get the kit? Been hearing some horror storries on how long it has taken buyers to get thier goods AFTER their accounts have been charged. Not trying to start anything here, but the kit seems like a great idea, but stuff is only as good as its customer service in my eyes. having to wait over a month for parts after they charged you right away for it, then instead of telling you its not ready, they wait and wait and wait. Just what I have heard through the grape vine.

Pictures are a little beyond me I don't have a digital camera yet. There is another thread with a picture. No trailer yet either but I'm sure your right. I hope to have a toyhauler soon.

I got the kit several months ago under the group buy. Two week wait and then I paid for the kit after product in hand.

The Dynatrac freespin hubs make a big differance, much quiter and smoother running down the road. Well worth the money IMO!!!!!

2wd low for backing my toyhauler would be so nice.

I know what you mean. I read everyone of these hub threads just hoping there has been a dually breakthrough. :{

Maybe next time...

Actually, I know someone who bought these... and is waiting on dynatrac to pull thier head out of thier *** and ship his parts (over a month now) and he is putting them on his dually. I mentioned that he should try and find a set of ford or chevy dually wheel adaptors from when they used lockouts (like in the 80's early ninetys) and bolt them to the new setup. I dont know if that is for sure what he is going to do, but it make sense to me that it should work perfectly.

That or you could easily have a billit wheel adaptor made, but I am guessing that would be $$$$

It will be interesting to know what he does. Since the Dodge hub extenders are too thin to safely machine. Maybe dynatrac will have one made? But im' not holdin my breath on that!

the ford adapters up to "my98" should work as they had the 8x6. 5" bolt pattern then. . i don't ever remember seeing a chevy dually with lockout hubs on them [maybe early 80's but i was 3-4 years old then ;)]

Installing a set of these hubs on an 03 this weekend, I'll see if I can get some pics for everyone to see. This truck has stock steel wheels with 35 Toyo MT's.

Have had mine since last fall. Noticeable inmprovement in steering and smoothness. MPG (by the ovhd console) increased by 1 - 1. 5 MPG depending on time of year (blended fuel) and type of driving. A good mod IMO if you plan to keep the truck a long time (5-7 yrs) or 150K - 200K miles. Only complaint is that rust came through the black paint in less than a month.

One concern I would have is with the salt and junk jambing them up. A friend of mine who buys Fords has had a number of hubs (on at least 2 trucks) replaced because he can't twist them anymore.

Yeah Fred! My question is: why doesn't Dodge provide manual hubs as part of the standard offerings and let the guys who can't see the advantages pay a premium for the fulltime setup? Servicable hubs are just practical and sturdy and would have to deliver better handling and fuel economy. My old Ford and Toyota had 'em and wow could you fell the drag upon engagement.

Why couldn't Dodge offer a manual hub option with the current NV271/273 tcase so that you could still just leave the hubs locked when you know you're going to be in and out alot and let the tcase diff do the slipping when on pavement then go to free and 2H and have the benefits like low drag, less vibs, etc? It seems Dodge could offer this a lot cheaper than Dynatrac.

Install is very straight-forward. Here's some pics I snapped today. I was also installing KORE Chase control arms and draglink on this guy's truck. Pics in gallery too.

Bill, your truck is ready except for the stabilizer. Where'd ya stash it? The transmission is working great, and I did a few runs with the TST on 6/2 and it pulls through the gears really nice. Trans temp is hooked up with one of Scott Hovey's cooler lines, too. Very clean setup. I'll PM you with the details on yours.
