This sounds like a good product and has been received well here on TDR. My question is how far do the hubs protrude. I've read 1. 5" but is this beyond the factory hubcap or from the wheel mounting surface. Where does the finnished product end up in regards to the stock wheel? Also read that a TDR member installed the dynatrac stub hubs on 2nd gen any idea if these are in the works for the 9. 25 AAM front end?

I have them installed on my truck... they protrude from the outer edge of the tire by approximately 3 inches.

This photo isn't the best, but you can get an idea for a 3rd gen truck...

Hope this helps,

Up date... ... ..... they are building their own hubs now. Not using the Warns. They look cleaner and do not protrude as far,but I did not measure them just a quick look.

I could see it being a problem on a dedicated rockcrawler but on truck that really would not see too much trail duty more on the likes of baja surf trips and mtn snow. I think though that when I do pull the trigger I'll go short hubs.

Thanks for the photo

Dynalocs

Bob4x4 checked out my buddy's truck which arrived back here in San Diego this afternoon. The hubs now don't stick out much more than the tires on a stock rim w/285's. If you had some 35's on an H2... ..... pretty nice. These things are much beefier in person than the pictures portray. He had the Dynaloc upgrade done. Nice

The only problem with the extended hubs on a DD is the fact they get chewed up with gravel... it will cause the chrome to start to peel... it mainly affects those of us that see a lot of antiskid during the winter months.

I plan to wrap my exposed hub parts (that would get hit with gravel) with a layer of Duct tape during the winter months.

Just pulled the trigger the other day and went with the Dynaloc hubs vs the Warn a bit shorter and stronger and also a bit cheaper than the warns. Talking on the phone about the stub hub kit for the 3rd gen AAM basically dont hold your breath if your waiting. The feeling I got was this was a big maybe so who knows. One of the u-joints has gone bad so i figure do everything at once.

Let us know how they work out... you are the first person I have actually seen who bought them...

Shoot some pictures of the install... I forgot to do that...

I have heard they wont make a stub kit for our trucks as the bearing spacing is for lighter trucks...

Dynatrac has no intentions of designing or producing a stub hub kit. The hub body is part of the free spin kit, I purchased the dynalocs when they were released.

I understand that. The previous posts said that you can get Warn hubs or Dynatracs' own hubs; theirs are shorter than the Warns. Thats what I was referring to... So the DynaLocs are the in-house hubs from DynaTrac?

Yeah, They're about 3/4" shorter than the Warns approx. Super quality units according to them.

You probably looked in my old readers rigs gallery and saw the warns, I have pics of the dynalocs in my new photo gallery. And if you look at an old post,

I have a front shot of the hubs to show how much shorter they are. Dynaloc hub photos

Hey, that helps alot. I did look at the new photos, but not the old ones before. Now I can see the difference between the two. The new ones definately look better.
