A few questions for you.

What did you do about the shaft seal on the passenger side (long shaft)? The seal on the CAD axle is just outside of the CAD but your new long shaft has the seal back at the ring carrier. Did you drop the ring carrier and install a new seal there? What abou the shaft bushing that is on the inboard side of the CAD, did you remove it?

I love it. i only have a few miles on it so far. I will be going on a trip and will post any mpg increases. Turning in 4 wheel drive is bump stop to bump stop with no torque binding. Driving, turning, and 4 wheel drive is much smoother. The seal is installed in the cad location. I removed the bushing and old seal and installed the new seal where the old seal came out. There is no place for the seal at the diff. The diameter on the new shaft for the seal is . 020" of an inch smaller than the new shaft dia. The shaft is smooth enough to accept the seal at the cad location. No leaks and it will work as if it were made to go there. I have lots of experience in machanics, including school, and machinery . I'm stating this so you know that I know what I'm doing. I reinstalled the cad vacuum motor and housing so all hoses would hook up and I would not have to plug them. No problems with the install. All went together perfectly. Very pleased. I'll update when I can. Bunyan

Awesome post. That is by far the most through post of the Dynatrac I have seen. Thank you so much for taking the time to share. Looking forward to hearing about any improvements.

If you look at the pics more thurough you will notice the brown male. He's in a picture with the bare knuckle. They weren't much help until my hands were covered in grease. The white dog is female and expecting. She would stop by and want her tummy rubbed. I did take time out for that. She is only ten months old. These are my breeding stock. They are Louisiana Catahoula Leopards. They both have been in the pen with ferral hogs from seven weeks. I use them for what they were bred for, livestock.

I was able to get in the mud this past weekend and enjoyed it very well. The manual hubs worked great. Smooth and trouble free. Was able to enjoy low gears without locking the hubs. Can cruise at various speeds and more gear options in all situations.

Any difference in mileage? If so what is your axle ratio? I have heard it both ways. Most people seem to just want to eliminate the factory hub/disconnect setup.

No mileage check yet. Making long trip this weekend and will post when I get home. I did get on it hard in the mud and worked great. Hope for some mileage gains. We'll see Sunday night. Both unit bearings were bad. The left had movement and after removing the right it was grinding pretty good.

Mileage Update.

Well I was finaly able to drive to the farm and back home. 220 mile round trip. Mileage has improved 2. 3 mpg. I added a mbrp straight through muffler last week. So with the free spin conversion kit and the muffler the 2. 3 mpg gain is great.
