President?

Hey Y'all,looks like me and Gorilla missed out,oh well. Had to play army saterday and babysit an armory. . Next time,hopefully I'll have the new clutch and I can Dyno,with the DDIII and EZ box,I need one,had to take the EZ out so the cluth will last a while:{

Whats comin up,anything good soon????

MTE: That's a lot of bread for a glow plug... . thankfully, they seem to last a while... . not like they go every week.

How long before you need a double-disc pulling clutch?

I remember the 'hill test' coming back from TiM '03... . :-laf

MTY

Huh, which hill was that? I did the bump in the road on the way home from work tonight, not much, but enough. 55->95 up hill got me 1090F with a peak of about 42lb boost!

As for the clutch, I think that's massdiesel's ulterior motive. I'm sure he has a nice FE in just my size.

And the glow pin looks just like what they put in a Mercedes or VW, except the thread is different, and it takes 8V. If I could swap it out, it would drop down to about a $20 part.

Now where is TNLracing? I have some injectors for him!!!

MTE

MTE: It was the hill in CT that you drive on everyday to/from work.

All I remember is hearing something on the CB and seeing a black streak pass me at a high rate 'o speed. :-laf

MTY

That's the hill! Except we were still in NY, almost in CT. :D

Hey, in case I forgot, I want to thank HeyBoss and Snow Man for their help with the injector swap!!!! You guys are the best!!!

I stand corrected...

The hill is in NY... not CT. :)

How long did the 'jector swap take? Has anyone beat the 38 minute record? :D

"Dad" (HEYBOSS) loves doing 'jector swaps... . :)

Matt

I don't know how long it took. It moved right along though. People asking questions, Snow Man having to go dyno his truck, Dez opening the garage door to let the soot out; I wasn't watching the clock  HeyBoss solved some tricky problems as we went along, like how to get the compression washers off the old injectors and how to find the one we dropped on the head :D

I usually try to use a razor blade... . they get in-between the nozzle and the washer pretty well.

A few instances of pucker factor when working on 6BT's: I remember a tense moment of dropping a valve stem retainer... . and another moment of dropping a lifter. I feel your pain... :) And to think all of this was after your freeze plug issue... . :-laf

MTY

TT, that's good!

Yup, we used the razor blade. Finding the washer involved getting some light on the problem, and using a mirror to check the

#6 injector hole

MTE... You can say it now, "That espar repair went really smooth and quick!"

Still waiting for the reply...

Did you ever notice how we can drag out a thread in the NE...

Yes, the Espar repair went exceptionally well. I think having a warm garage had everything to do with it. If I had been working in the bitter freeze, I would still be out there, probably frozen solid to the air horn. It would be a long wait till spring so they could pry me off the top of the engine. Thanks Mark!

As for NE threads, we seem to hold the record for shortest elapsed time to get off topic.

MTE

Yes NE threads go on, between you guys trying to figure out which hill, smoke and freeze plugs, it can go on.

MTE: like that exhaust, may be exactly what I'm looking for. How much Hp will it add? Is it a good combo with the freeze plugs? or will I need a bigger turbo?

Hey no problem with injector swap. Man I didn't know that was Snowman giving you a hand. HEY Snowman, nice to meet ya:rolleyes:

We didn't beat that injector swap time, to many variables going on, plus no bbq's and beer:{ but it's OK.

MTY: how's things up, or is it down that way going? Man haven't seen you in a while, I think by now we should call you MTE. You're getting older, aren't you? BTW the German roller skate doesn't have enough block to fit enough freeze plugs to noticeably increase hp's. May want try a sail from a sail boat:rolleyes:

You wouldn't have to wait until spring to be pried off. All you would have to do is blow the air horn:D
