Dyno Day?

I have talked to a few NETDP 'members' that are a bit confused as to whether or not there is going to be a dyno day anytime soon... .



There was talks about the one in Worcester with the Toyota Tundra guys ( :-laf ).....

We've been there and done that. The dyno guys in Worchester move like bird$hit goes down a windowpane. It took them all day to do, what five trucks?



I really like the idea of a challenge dyno though. How about we invite the Tundra crowd to Mike Dez in RI? We could alternate, "Oh please ... you go first... " Then dyno a diesel that beats 'em. "Your turn!" Beat 'em again. Save the real horsepower for the 'Shock and Awe' phase, make PigPen wait for later in the day. Buy donuts.



We were going to have a dyno early in April, but we have a Hooter's to go to instead. So how about early May? Say the first weekend? How about May 3rd?



There's also an invite to go back to PA. Not far from me here... . that would be fun... ... .

The soot factor alone will scare them... . and clog up their cabin air cleaners. :-laf



I am opposed to going to Worcester... . but I would like to romp on some gassers down at Dez's place. Mike Dez is beyond cool with us... . he gets us hooked faster than anyone and treats us well all the time.

That's right, MTY will have to back in to get the drive wheels on the dyno... or will he be able to have the front and back wheels on the dyno at the same time? Does the dyno work in both directions or will Matt have to test with the bug in reverse?



Will he get higher dyno numbers if we run the bug across the carpet a few times first?

Sounds good. Someone will have to look into reserving a campsite (?) at Colt State Park. I was sick last time, was that where it was?



Scott got in touch with Mike Dez today and May 3rd is out. We will be having a dyno day on May 10th so have the horsepower ready to be put to the rollers. Little yellow lovebugs are welcome as are any gassers you would personally like to outperform. I'd suggest it would be polite to let them go first, so they can enjoy the glow off their numbers for the ten or so minutes it takes to spank them properly!



I personally have a new exhaust to test and will be sorely disappointed if I'm not making a solid 15hp more than last time

New exhaust, huh? Seeing as how I'm sure your being entirely truthful with us, we shall see about that 15HP ?



Colt State park was awesome last year. The only thing that could make the day any more fun than last year would be having a gas vs. diesel shootout.



I just did a search and got the phone # for Colt State park. I'll call them tomorrow and see about them letting us have a get together there.

It's always good to get baseline numbers on a stock truck before you start bombing. How else will you know how much of an improvement you've made? You can guess based on what other stock trucks have done, but every truck is a little different. As the saying goes, Your Mileage May Vary.



Heck, I''ve been to Dez's three times and I'm still not sure how to get there. And I'll definitely be following someone to Colt.

My 2 sons and I will be there. If there is going to be a cookout afterwards maybe I can talk my boss into coming too. So count on 3 maybe 4 for us. Maybe see if my son's truck can manage a puff of smoke.
