Not exactly, you only make the wheels go faster, no HP gain.
The reason higher HP trucks do a little better in 6th is because it takes longer to accelerate the rollers and gives more time for the big turbos spool before getting into the peak HP band.
When I dynoed my truck I did 5th and 6th and there was only a 0. 1 HP difference.
