Fields of Fuel-Biodiesel event Telluride, CO

I know this doesn't leave much time to plan, but I'm looking for a few truck to go to a dynorun in rapid city south dakota. Its on may 10th, at RAPID DIESEL, starting at 10:00. They mentioned that TS PERFORMANCE was bringing a truck(prob their 1000hp common rail), as well as "someone from canada", so I'll leave that to your imagination. They mentioned some prizes, but I would have to call them again to clarify. I looked at some hotel rates online, and as of a few days ago the cheapest I found was 35 plus tax including a continental breakfast. Its a go for me unless I have a prob making enough biodiesel to get there and back, as fuel expense is the only roadblock. I'm thinking of going early friday afternoon and am hoping to catch some pre dyno fun that night. There was an article on their last dyno in diesel power magazine and it showed some burnouts that occurred the night before, so I'm being hopeful that its not a one time deal. I'm going to try to get a hold of someone who might be in the know of fun the night before. I am also up for some car pooling/splitting fuel costs, as this is a way to include more truck guys. Distance from greeley to rapid city is bout 370 miles, so anyone who actually gets 20mpg or better should be able to do it in a little over a tankful. This could really be a fun trip if we work together. Feel free to give me a call at 970-590-3883. Leave a message and when I'm on break, I'll call back. For any of us that go and are interested, i'll bring some burnout tires and a strap for tug of war.

Well, TS PERFORMANCE might fly instead of bring a truck, and the "someone from canada" is Harold from BD who might come-neither of these are confirmed one way or the other yet.

Well its a go for us, Ive been to rapid probably over 30 times, don't know much to do in the town you could go to mt. rushmore or some of the local attractions (sturgis) even though its pretty much a ghost town right now.

Anyone from colo interested yet? Mopartech thinks there should be a few dmaxs to whup up on coming from nebraska.

Well, my job scheduled me and the crew I'm part of to a power plant repair south of colorado springs, so I'm not going to be able to go to the dyno run. Sorry guys, wish I could be there.

well it was a pretty good time, had around 30 trucks there, met some really cool people. My buddy and the truck I do all the wrenching on won his class with 400/991 for the 401hp and below class. A kid with a 2001 won the 401 and about cat with 1359tq. And he also won the open class. There was some awesome dodges, mostly stock fords and a couple of chevys that really didn't do much.

Oh by the way it was 35+ degrees the whole day and it was cold with the garage door open. If I ever figure out how to upload video to youtube I will put my video on there.

Well, even if I wouldn't have been out of town last weekend, my headgasket blew the thursday before, and would have cancelled my trip. Sounds like it was chilly fun.
