Took my all stock '00 3500 6 speed to the local Cummins dealer for a dyno test. This was the Cummins Rocky Mountain center in Henderson Colorado (Denver).
I was told the dyno test would give me HP, TQ, and everything the ECM was reading plus the crankcase pressure. After waiting 3 hours for them to get around to the test I was very disappointed with what they did. I was a Superflow dyno. When I was given the dyno sheet it was full of zeros. The only numbers recorded were HP and crancase pressure. The engine RPM numbers were written in by hand. The HP was down, only made 178 @ 3000 rpm. The crankcase pressure was between 2. 5 & 3 inches WC. I was told that was normal and up to 8" is acceptable. To make things worse I walked over to the dyno bay during the test. Something came loose and got into the fan (probably the crankcase pressure sensor). The dyno technician had to shut it down in the middle of the test without cool down. No damage to the fan but I don't like them shutting it down during the test without a cool down.
Then they tried to charge me $151 for a test they quoted me $90 for. When I voiced my displeasure they agreed to charge $90. I asked about all the other readings I should have had (boost, TQ etc... ) They said "well there is really nothing wrong with it, so we just do a "quick check". Plus "this is not or usual dyno technician" But I told them, "didn't you just say it is down on power?" I got a blank stare.
It obvious to me these people are not interested in helping the Dodge truck customers. After waiting over 4 hours I decided enough was enough, paid my bill and left.
Anyone else have problems with Cummins Rocky Mountain?
Thanks
