NAHHhhhh - we WEST coasters always dyno in direct to give you EAST coasters a fighting chance - but may have to even start downshifting to keep it even... ;) :p :p

I think this has been said before:

Automatics: Dyno in OD from RPM where TCC stays locked and truck doesn't downshift

5-speeds: Dyno in 4th (1:1) under 400hp, 5th over 400hp.

6-speeds: Dyno in 5th (1:1) under 400hp, 6th over 400hp.

With the manuals, make the run as listed above, then, if under 400hp, make one last run in the higher gear. While the number will usually be lower, it will be your baseline for later testing, where the speeds will be the same.

hey now Look where the east coast/ west coast thing got Biggie and Tupac:-laf ... I know I started it, but "cant we all just get along":D

Thanks Keith - That's the way I thought it went - and the way all local dyno runs have been done - not that many STREET daily drivers going much over the 400 mark - but the bit about use of higher gears as a baseline for higher power is a good point...

I'll keep that in mind for when I'm pushing 800 HP on straight #2... ;) :p

Just to throw my numbers in here. In 6th gear, Comp turned off, DD2s; 275hp------ Comp on 1x5 326hp---- Comp on 5x5 379hp. I was hoping for 400hp but this ain't to shabby.
