I am kinda unclear on the Dyno games & wondering if you guys can explain some things. I dynoed my truck last year in Reedsville, WV. at the fairgrounds & was wondering how accurate the dyno was. It was my first dyno run & I've read some posts on here about different numbers on different dynoes & was wondering how accurate the... . well I guess you would call it a chassis dyno. It was a trailer that you drove up on. Are they accurate? Which are most accurate? Thanks in advance.

What were your numbers?

476hp & 936ftlb, but that was only when I had a edge comp [not drag comp] & a set of Dragon Flow injectors with a 62/12 HTB2. I am just trying to see how accurate that was. The truck put the same exact numbers down 3 times consistently on back to back runs. The guy running the dyno said that my truck had the best graph that he has seen to hold the numbers so clean & smooth all the way through the run.

I started a thread on the diff between a load dyno and an inertia dyno a while back (do a search)... that should help you out a little, from what I understand a load dyno is a little more accurate on the numbers b/c of the extra load that is plaved on the engine, but I am no expert.

I'll check it out, but I'm not sure what a load dyno/ inertia dyno are or the differences of each. I'm just a rookie looking to be schooled here.

Dyno

727, You Dynoed on David Dunbars Dynojet. I'd say its a fairly accurate dyno. I ran my truck at that same event. My numbers on different dynos last summer were from a high of 565 HP to a low of 543 HP. I made 55? something at Reedsville I had the high #'s for the event. Hope this helps. Thanks Steve B.

Yeah... I remember seeing your truck up there..... nice run. I am gonna run again this year if he has it..... changed alot of stuff since then & the new engine is definately way stronger & the new transmission is way better. I also had my comp turned down when he ran it & no orings or studs... . boost was set at 33psi, but I know my numbers went way up since the last event. You may actually have a run this year! LOL
