The is retired because 2300 degrees is a little hot for these new trucks. You can probly firgure out why it is retired now. Yes those number were on a stock turbo.

2300 degrees is ridiculous. The problem with dyno numbers is that most people only post the peak numbers. It is somewhat easy to make unusable power, what takes more effort is to make the power usable. I have seen many trucks that can make large amounts of power for 15 seconds, but put a trailer or some weight on them and the temps go through the roof. They end up turning everything down to tow a trailer. I made max power of 575 hp - 1125tq on #2 only. 1200*F at the exhaust manifold at 4500 ft elevation. Used a Mustang Dyno with No correction factor. I can't tow at those settings, but when towing I can turn the TST down to lvl 5 and not have any EGT issues, even at 6,000 ft altitude. Probably making 500 rwhp at that level.

590hp is pretty good, but 623hp is better, and its my truck, not my friend's.

Everybody has a "friends" truck to tell stories about, I have the actual truck. Brandon, it sounds like we have a similar setup, 612hp and 1166 tq.

Very nice job Peter.

It just took us 3rd gens a little while to getting rolling but we are finally putting down some very respectable numbers.

What kind of boost numbers and EGTs are you seeing?

Good looking truck too.

Thanks, love the black when its clean (as I am sure you are familar).

Boost is around 50 psi. I have the blow-off valves set at 60 psi, but I am not able to reach that high. My guess is the 4500 ft altitude. Anyway, at lower boost levels, 30-40 psi, EGT's can reach as high as 1300 degrees (either on a dyno or pulling a 9,000 lb trailer), but as the boost rises up toward 50 psi, the EGT's drop to around 1150-1200 degrees.

Interestingly, I was hauling a Bobcat skidsteer back from Idaho last weekend, and cruising at 85 mph, the EGT's were around 800. Only under hard acceleration, or climbing a grade did the EGT's rise to the 1150-1200 level.
