i just had my truck dynoed at dynojet's factory and all i can say is wow. i will post the graphs as soon as the tech e-mails them to me. all i have is peak #'s

stock
hp trq
258 520

with ez
hp trq
290 667

peak #'s were all right but i will have to wait and see what the biggest gains were. did i get a good truck or all the eth doing this? he said these were corrected #'s is that normal? at our elevation 4500ft the numbers were not as nearly as impressive as the corrected #'s. now i can't wait until i get the dd2's i should be at 350hp and close to 800ftlbs with less than $1200. 00. not bad for a truck that has 1500 miles on it.

I wish I could afford a new ETH
my little 1990 160 dynoed out 185@1900 on a water brake @ cummins... that was pre bombed

CUMINNTSTRKN... I'm impressed. Better get some gauges if you don't have 'em already.

I've seen 6 or 8 different stock ETHs on the dyno and not one comes even close to your numbers. At 650 ft/lbs your clutch should be slipping while towing heavy loads or soon will start. Most stockers dyno between 210 and 220 horse power, at the wheels, on both Dynojet and Mustang dynos. Don't trust those numbers.

i've been impressed with my truck since the ez. in 4th gear if i start at 1300rpm and punch it when the motor gets to 1700rpm i have a real problem with traction. #ad
i actually did 3 pulls stock and 3 pulls with the ez. like i said i will post the graphs as soon as i get them. the tech was surprised also. he pulled up a powestroke he had recently done with a stage 1 superchip (i think) and he only beat my stock #'s by 20ftlbs. maybe if rob hanson reads this when i'm at the nw bombers get together he knows of another dyno in the seattle area that's open on sat. i'm not saying these #'s are perfect, but these were done at dynojets factory in a special r&d room they use for testing. so a guy would think that there dyno would be close. btw my freind dynoed his slightly built 454 and he got 327hp and 413 trq. his trq was flat he had over 400ftlbs from 1600 to 4200.

CUMINNTSTRKN-
I have a feeling something is wrong. I have never heard of a stock ETH doing those kind of numbers (great if they did!). Could something be miscallibrated or was the weight of the truck entered wrong.

there might be something wrong i guess i don't know.
i talked to the tech today and he assured me those are true #"s he said all my runs were within a couple of hp of each other.

Your max torque is coming at 200 to 300 rpms greater that any other chart I've seen on either the ETH, ETC, or 12 valve. The figures for the 454 gasser are also hard to believe.

Many ETH owners have reported loss of traction in 4th, but maybe you really should count your blessings.

Cuminntstrkn... I too have a feeling something is wrong with these stock numbers?? Cummings advertises it's ETH is 245hp and 505 torque at the flywheel!! How then can you be putting out 258hp "stock" at the rear wheels?? If on average there is approx. a 20% loss of power from the fly-wheel to the rear wheels you would be at 309hp at the flywheel???? NWIH!!! What do you mean that these numbers were corrected??? Corrected for what??? I'm with Bart, I haven't seen a ETH or ETC come close to those stock numbers on any Dyno. .

i forgot to mention that the only mod i had on when testing stock was stanadyne performance #ad
i don't know why the #'s are so high but i'm not complaing. i was going to install dd2's at nw bomb fest but i may wait until i can dyno my truck at another location first.

HeberRam,since the early seventies,OEM advertising of HP ratings has been "net" horsepower,(rear wheel),not gross,(flywheel). Cummins is advertising net @ 245. My net HP on a DynoJet was 372. 6,not stock of coarse,My gross HP was 484,(at flywheel). All Dynos,(shops),use a correction factor, these relate to,Altitude, air, temp. ,and more, plus drag, mine being a 3500,4x4,Auto. All these things, factured in,provide a means to keep ratings somewhat equal,I hope this helps . Thanks,Dave

I don't believe that advertised "net" horse power is taken at the rear wheels, but at the flywheel. The difference between "net' and "gross" is the addition of all the engine accessaries for the "net" readings.
