Older guy goes to the doctor with an ailment, and tells the Doc, "I have this pain in my elbow joints - I use my hannds and massage them every morning and evening, but the pain is still there"...

The Doc hands the guy a bottle, and sez "Here, try this instead".

Guy returns a week later, and tells the Doc, "I tried that bottle like you suggested - but rubbing my elbows with it instead of my hand didn't help at ALL!"

The Doc points out, no, you don't rub WITH the bottle, you use what's IN the bottle, and rub THAT into your sore jounts!"

It isn't always simply the POSSESSION of knowledge or a better way, it's often how it is APPLIED... :p ;) :D

I didn't have to read in a magazine who is the better Diesel dyno man in this discussion.

Hands down, David Dunbar.

Perhaps another make of dyno in Texas, is a better machine, but I will never get on one, anywhere, because of the rude behavior of their chief salesman, towards good people asking honest questions on this message board.

jetenginedr, you should be ashamed of yourself, and are no doubt an embarrassment to your colleagues in the field, and Texans in general.

And on that note, I'm not posting on this thread, anymore!!

No Gary, I refuse and you can't make me!!!

Say what you will, I have spoken, and with my background, I have nerve enough to resist my underlings antagonizations!! No more posting on this thread, period!

... ..... DOH! ..... crap. ;)

Gene, you are too kind and obvioulsy not feeling like yourself. :-laf

There are plenty of guys that can provide some input to this topic. The many guys that run a bunch on dyno's, also folks like Keith Locklier at Diesel Dynamic's, Piers, Edge, and I am sure many others. The point is to try and explain WHY we see some runs that just don't seem to be valid. Example.

2000 Dodge 2500 4x4. DTT auto, Edge 3 level box stacked with EZ. RV275 injectors, stock HX35. One dyno, 241hp / 907tq. Another dyno 347hp / 771tq. Which sounds correct?

1998 Dodge 2500 4x2 12v. Suncoast Auto, Garmon P-pump (Springs, deliveries, custom plate) 370's, HX40 (40 psi). Ran a best of 13. 9 @ 101 mph.

One dyno 455hp, another dyno 360hp. Which sounds correct?

These are real world examples that I am asked to explain when the owner is confused with the widely different results.

Justin here has put up a real world example. Anyone care to take a stab at it? With Blue Chip box, EZ, and DDIII's (130hp correct?) and hybrid 35/40. What would you expect him to generate on the rollers? I would think between 420 - 460 hp. Anyone have an opinion? He dyno'd between 349 and 384 but has run 97. 5 mph in the 1/4 @ 7200lbs. His has me stumped.

Well this thread has run its course, its a shame because its an interesting discussion, but obviously an emotional one to some.
