The best horsepower runs I've seen pulled were on a Mustang dyno. That particular dyno loads the engine up earlier in the RPM band. The ones at the local Cummins dealers too are amazing as the load can be manually added via turning a knob to literally put the engine back to idle at full power. The one near me has been known to explode big rig rear ends and transmissions in high horsepower applications! Any other dynos I've ever seen let the engine rev to like 3000 RPM before they load up, which is way too late in the RPM band.
