I went to Dyno-mite Diesel Performance in Monroe, Wa today to check out their shop. Nice shop, and great people. I wasn't planning on dynoing, but couldn't resist the temptation to spin the rollers. First of all, I didn't turn up the pump before the run. I also did not have any centane booster in the fuel, or any other alternative fuels. It’s just the way I run it everyday. I also had six witnesses. So it is all fair and square.

Horsepower: 348. 2

Torque: 805. 8

:D Oo. :D Oo. :D

Mike

Mike, I got there just after you left. I wish Lenny would have called me and told me you were there. Missed a chance to say "HI".

Super congrats on the numbers. WOW!!

From what I was told, your rig sounds gnarly.

Way to go spud boy!!

Oh yea, I was told to address you as MR. spud boy from now on.

Dave

Mike,

I think we all need one of your fuel pins, i really like that torque number ... ... ..... Awesome

WOW- tHOSE ARE SOME VERY IMPRESSIVE NUMBERS! I didn't think this was possible from a first gen truck. I bet its fun to pull past the new trucks like they are standing still when you are going up the Lewiston Grade! Old smoky sounds very much like a wolf in sheeps clothing. I wonder how many power joke owners go home with a puzzled look on their face when you blow by them like they are standing still. Way to go Mike.

I don't think those hogged out injectors are hurting anything either ;)

Mr. Spud boy..... hehe thats good. Good thing Idaho's known for its taters and not the beans!

Jay

WOW!!! With that kind of torque, Mike will blow ALL the rigs off of Lewiston Hill! Most of us can pass the Power Strokes on that grade, but Mike will do the best job of putting frowns on their faces:-laf

Thanks guys.

jbolt - I will let you guys know when the pins are ready. Didn’t get a chance to pickup the new design Friday.

hdm48 - I remember Lenny saying you didn't live too far away. I might be hanging around there quite a bit this summer, if you know what I mean.

Patrick McMahon & Mgrant - Seems like the Lewiston grade just keeps getting flatter and flatter. :)

I wonder what would happen if I turned the fuel screw in a little farther, did this, and maybe added that... . ;) I don’t know why people complain of Lenny's dyno reading low. Seems ok to me!

"Mr. Spud Boy" :-laf

So, how smokey are you now?

Whoooee! I love those numbers.

How's your mileage?

Just when I thought I was done messin with this thing.

Anybody in the southeast even close to Mark and Mikes numbers?

I think what I like the most about this, is the fact you dyno'd it the way you drive it. sure, anybody can crank up the pump till it squeeks, but getting these numbers with real life settings is great.

Dave

sgriffing,

Old Smoky is really living up to his name. ;) I am still happy with the mileage, but it's down a little. I get about 22mpg on the highway now, where I used to get a little better. Around town mileage remains about 19mpg.

I agree with you Bob & Dave, I like the idea of having good power and being able to effectively use it.

Mike

Old Smokey,

what transmission/torque converter are you running?

I know I have a V/B (Or so previous owner claims) but I wonder about my Torque converter.

MY MILEAGE SUCKS!!

Mike stop and think about your numbers - they are about the equal of 500 hp on a 2nd Gen. That's getting a whole lot out a VE pump, limited choise of injectors and no chips for the computer. Keep up those numbers. :) :)
