So i did my first dyno trip last weekend at RPMs Engine's Winter Dyno day. I made 450hp and 754trq stacked with a superchip. But it runs like crap with it stacked, it idles rough it dies a lot putting it into gear, and died after the dyno run cause it was shut down too fast.

With just the tst pm3 and jammer 3s I made 377hp and 723 trq, its alot more streetable and the PDR hx-40 seems like a pretty good match for it.

My question is do these numbers seem right for the combo? What are other TST PM3 users HP numbers and what kind of combo's do they have? Is it worth sending it in for the comp upgrade? I'm thinking i might just wait for the quadzilla thing...

I would have expected more with your combo. Jammer 3's should be 100+ over stock. TST should be similar to an Edge Juice or Comp, another 115hp or so... add that to the 210 it should have made stock, then add 30 or so for the HX40... should be in the low/mid 400's without the superchip box.

How much did it make with the boxes turned off, injectors only?

I put down the numbers in my sig with DD3's, smarty on 8, and APB... all on a stock turbo  and a conOFE for my clutch..... at the time I was told that with my turbo and switching to mach 4s that I would be in the low 500's (515-525)... I am kind of curious to see what it will put down with just switching the turbo... . but I need studs. The wg is set to 40 and I have seen 48-50 a few times with it balls to the wall... :-laf:confused:

Btw with just injectors and a smarty I put down 266hp and I forget the tq. That apb gave an even 100 hp... obviously if you can add or subtract... lol

Keith, you have to subtract for driveline loss also. 377 is a good number. 450 is real good with the Superchip.

I see you ran on a Mustang dyno... so all bets are off. :) Not familiar with the APB and never dynoed a Smarty myself, sorry. 50psi should be fine with the stock headgasket. On an HO, you're approaching the limit... on a SO, that's fine.

There is no subtraction for driveline loss when you are on a chassis dyno. What it makes at the wheels is what it makes. Stock 2000-2001 standard output trucks made around 200-210 at the wheels. Set of Stage 3's should have put it in the 300-310hp range. Add a Comp or Juice, that should give another 110 or so on level 5. With his HX-40, another 25hp or so.

Been there, done that a few times. I'm not just talking out of my butt. ;)

Hey Ben, I would wait for the Adrenaline, Chris ordered one and I hear they are shipping. I'm going to help him install it so you might want to go for a ride before deciding.

My truck is a HO... thats why I am a little nervous about going any higher. The APB is the adjustable power box from blue chip. It is strictly fuel only and the claim is an honest 85 or so hp at the wheels so it is really probably a 100hp box. All you do is turn a knob that you mount in the cab to adjust for fueling...

Hmm, wonder if that is like the original "Blue Chip" box... don't think they called it the APB back in 99-2000 if it is the same.

With your HO, keep the boost under 50 and you should be OK. What's the map of your SPS62 look like at 50psi? Still on or not?

Keith, isnt there a driveline loss from the HP advertised at the motor? You said 210 on a 2001 auto truck. My truck stock on a chassis dyno netted 177 on a 5 speed truck but engine is rated 230 I think?

There is some loss in the drivetrain of every truck, but so many of the trucks we dynoed were in the 200-210rwhp range, that was our accepted average. HO trucks made 218-222rwhp.

We also used a Dynojet chassis dyno. Other dynos, like the Mustangs and Superflows, can read lower numbers.

I didn't get a chance to dyno with out the electronic boxes, my truck died after the first run with both stacked and it took some time to get it started again.

It does sound pretty ****** rolling to a stop from 25mph or above, when the motor is kind of free wheeling it lopes like a big cam small block.

Hey Dave, I've been looking into the adrenaline and it looks pretty enticing. I would be interested in checking out his truck, do you know when he should get it?

Why is it that a SO motor can handle more boost than a HO motor? Does the SO have less compression or is there something going on with the head gasket??

I'm pretty sure there is some HP lost on a chassis dyno, it takes a few hp to turn the oil in the transmission and build up pressure along with the weight of the internal and than the 140 lbs of tire/wheel in the back. I would guess any where from 50-75hp loss.

Hey Ben, chris here. I was told today that I should have my box next week and if I have the time and can set it up with Dave maybe have it in that weekend, but we'll see. Our schedules might not work out. But when it is in I can catch you after work one day. The complexs that you're working at is right by my house I see your truck there almost everyday.
