fuel pressure guage connection options?

Just installed the C3. 2 yesterday. For the first time, I removed the EZ, and ran just the VA.

Started on Level 1, no smoke, power was about the same as the EZ on level 3. Ran smooth. EGT's are about the same as the EZ.

Level 2, Some smoke, EGT's and power are about the same as the EZ on level 6. However I get a little bit of a flutter in this setting... not sure what it is. I have about 1 psi of fuel pressure at WOT... but when it flutters I have about 5 psi. Do you think it is the box, or something with my truck?

Now I installed the EZ on level 3.

With the VA on level 1, it runs great. Feels like more power than just the VA on level 2, but with no smoke. The power comes in nice and smooth at about 1700rpm, and is nice and even all the way to 3400rpm.

With the VA on level 2, I get some good smoke, and EGT's go up fast. I also had it cough and sputter one time. The flutter is still there. This setting has some really nice power, but I can peg the EGT's at 1600° before I am out of 4th gear. Am I running out of fuel pressure??? or is it something else... .

I am wondering if I have damaged something using level 6 on my EZ. (not very often, but now and then) What would it be? The pressure sensor on the common rail?? the pressure relief? Injectors?

How was the egt on just the va on level 1, I know you said they were about the same as ez was on level 3 but I don't know what that was. I guess my quwstion is how many, if any, degrees did the ez cool the va off???

Thanks

Not sure, I will need to test again with the EZ off.

Thanks, I would really like to know that, initial indications are that a little pressure helps cool the va off, but Before I spend anymore I would like to know if it is a significant drop or just minor. Do you have any idea what the ez on level 3 by itself was running on the egt??

Great Video! Lots of smoke though... ... ... ... ... but please tell me that someone else shot the video while you drove :)

BHaner,

I never had a flutter on mine even when I pulled the fuel pressure into a vacuum at the injector pump. You mentioned you had 5 psi when it flutters, do you know what the rpm is/was?? I know I can't shift my 5 speed fast enough to keep it off the redline and I'm sure the six speed is even harder. I know at 3200 rpm mine de-fuels itself to keep from over-revving and that feels and sounds like a flutter.

I had a tripod hooked down in the passenger seat! Just pushed the button, did my thing, and pushed it again. :D

The sputter and pop was at about 2k, I was just easing into the throttle when it did it. (VA:2, EZ:3) The flutter on VA:2, EZ:0 was all over the place. Almost felt like TPS signal noise. I could feel it cut power, or stumble, then come back.
