Dynojet in Ft Collins Yesssss!

Does anyone know where in Minnesota I can find a dyno to run my truck on and see what shes got. I live in Brainerd which is in central Mn but would be willing to travel if I have to.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Kurt ( Smokin 90 ).

Kurt,

We're planning to have another dyno day at Dave Goerend's transmission shop in NE Iowa sometime this summer - hopefully. We had this event in May of 2001 and 2002. It's been pushed back this year due to dyno changes Dave is making. Watch the WI events forum for an announcement when the date is set. Also, I wouldn't be surprised to see another dyno day at K&S in Wausau, WI in the fall. They had us there last fall and this spring. Both events would be a bit of a drive for you, but not too unreasonable, I don't think. Also, JohnE has a lot going on closer to you in MN - they seem to be pretty active over there.

Winsted

I know of one in Winsted. About 45 min west of the cities. Its a dyno jet . If you need a number I can get it.

There is one in North Dakota also. Stop in at Mike's in Northwood. He has all the good stuff.

Thanks for the invite Fireman but I doubt I will be able to attend as I am on the pit crew for a Polaris factory backed snowmobile grass drag racing team and we are pretty busy that time of year which is too bad because one of our races is down in Wausau this fall around that time.

Jeff I you could would you post the # for the guy with the dyno. I'll give him a call if I can't find one closer.

Thanks guys.

There is more then just a dyno!

Not all dynos are created equal and then there is the operator. Make sure the one you choose has done lots of pickup diesels. If not... I would look else where.

I will also put a plug in for Mikes Custom Trucks, Northwood ND. He has a dynojet and is very experienced at operating it. You will get every last . 1 hp out of your truck. Northwood is 226 miles from Brainard. All they do there now is diesel pickups... . everyday. Overhauls, upgrades, timing, transmissions, you name. A very good shop to visit if you drive any diesel pickup.

Let me think what they offer you:

DynoJet

Banks

BD

Blumenthal's (5 spd fix & 6 spd swaps)

Complete (and I mean COMPLETE) driveline work

SBC (thanks to JJW's prodding)

Superchips (don't quote me on this one)

Cummins

Powerstroke

International IDI

Chevy IDI

Duramax

and

He still does some gasser work when they find the time.

Kurt;

I found several places on the DynoJet website. I take each listing with a grain of salt as Mike's is not listed. They still list the place in Fargo that sold the dyno to Mike. It does list the place in Winsted that Jeff mentioned.

It appears I will be in Northwood on Friday July 25th.

Scott is having some clutch troubles and scheduled for repairs. I'll head over and may ride the dyno if I get some fine tuning completed.

I'd like to join you but I will be drag racing snowmobiles in Lake Preston South Dakota that weekend:( . Have fun and post your #'s.

drag racing snowmobiles...

Remember Boss Cat I and Boss Cat II?

I know the pilot of those speed racers from the 70's.

In fact, he's a diesel power head, too.

Dale's running a hot 2003 F-350 Powerstroke.

If I get the fine tuning done this weekend, it will be a ride on the rollers.

Thanks John now you've made me feel old. I remember those sled from when I was a little kid. As a matter of fact they made me a life long Arctic Cat fan. I have ridden Arctic Cats all of my life and I even was lucky enough to get a job as a snowmobile test driver with them back in 1997. It was by far the best job I ever had, we put on almost 30,000 miles a year and I got to travel all over the US and Canada to do it. Heck I've even ridden in July in Hyder Alaska on top of Salmon Glacier. :-laf It was a experiance I will alway be grateful for and will never forget.
