E brake cable end clip part number

I had a problem with my emergency brake and what I found was that the crappy little clip that holds it in place on the actuator arm inside the drum was broken and the cable end was dangling. Tried in vain to get a replacment. Eventually jury rigged it with mechanics wire and drove it for the last four years. Couldn't find a parts man smart enough to figure out what it was from the microfich. Posted here one time but no response. The parts supervisor at Carl Gregory Dodge in Albany Georgia found it for me and I would like to post the number in case anyone has a non functioning e brake and wants to fix it. PN 04713293. It is as near nothing as you can imagine and is about three dollars. Probably worth every bit of a nickel, but it makes the e brake work. You might even make one from a piece of banding strap and your dremel tool.

I just used a small worm-drive hose clamp. :D No way in %$@ was I gonna take a chance of it coming loose again - had to pull the drum off one too many times as it was. :p

Thats what I did on the first time rear brake job . When I pulled the drums off one of the clips was gone . I dont think it was on there from the factory so I put hose clamps on both sides . I put about 70,000 miles on that brake job and I just re-did the rear brakes a few months back and the hose clamps were still holding good . I put both new e-brake cables on this time and two new small gas line hose clamps .

What size hose clamp did you end up using?

Did you use one large enought to wrap around the entire E-brake lever or just large enough to go around the barrel on the end of the cable and half the E-brake lever?

any pictures by chance, i tracked down some clips but someone beat me to 4 of them, but other place had 2, when i get them im going to fab up some for future use. . and if anyone needs a part number for rear drums ext i got that faxed over from local dealer also with part#'s

I put aftermarket cables on mine and they did away with the little clip, but I don't remember what the cable end was shaped like. The factory clip is a little barrel shaped affair with 2 tabs that pointed forward engaging the brake lever.

the only one i have seen is from Napa and it looked like it had a ball on it, my cables are free and not frayed nor frozen up so im going to get the clips and if i have to figure out a way that they never come loose unless i need them loose.
I was able to track down 3 so i have them on the way.
