Ok folks, I want to buy an e-brake (Jacobs) but I'm going around in circles with p/n's.

Been reading all the threads on e-brakes and there seems to be many different part numbers going around for the 2001. Mopar p/n 050177008AA, Cummins p/n 3800791, etc.

Talk to Mopar-for-Less and they say p/n 82205577, they "think" for the 01.

Talked to Cummins today and they say p/n 3800780 brake with a 3800555 adapter. They never heard of 3800791.

Can anyone help me to unravel this mystery? I need a brake NOW! Thanks to all.

Ordered part number 82205577 from Mopar4less.com today. From what I hear, this is the correct part no. for the ETH and also backward compatible for a couple of years ($595 + 8. 00 shipping).

I ordered part #82205577 for my '01 ETH 6 speed and have it installed. It is the right one and it is an easy install. Two tips; remove the bolts holding the fuel filter on and it will lay back towards the drivers side fender liner to get at the ECM, and when inserting the "red wire" into space 20 on the ECM be sure it goes in till the insulation is well into the hole. It took me several trys. Each one involving putting the fuel filter back on and trying the brake. Suddenly it just slipped in much farther than I had been able to get it in.

I orderred from a Dodge dealer in Va. Can't remember the name but the phone # is 1-800-559- 6698. The price was $540 plus $20 S & H to Oregon. It works very well.

Merryman, thanks for the confirmation on the part number. Also, it sounds like you got the best deal on the price, although I have been very happy with the customer service at mopar4less. By any chance, did you also tap the exhaust manifold during the install for a pyro?

I tapped the elbow 1st. Then did the selinoid, (remember to change the bit back to 7/16" for the exhaust!!) Then dropped the turbo and did the exhaust (both front & rear). Then finished the install. Did notcut the insulation back but "punched" the 4 holes in it after marking. Then drilled the mount holes.

Drop the filter (just the two bolt) and use a 'short" allen wrench to undo the ECM connector. Push out the plug (mine was red and the only plugged hole to the rear), inser the wire about 1"" or more (it does go in a looonng way) until it "clicks" into the hole. Try pulling it out (GENTLY) to ensure its "locked" in.

Just another 0. 015$ worth of info.
