Briman, I probably didn't explain myself very well. I use my brake all the time too. What I ment to say, was do not let the clutch out with the brake engaged and idling as you let the clutch out after a down shift. Let the brake re-engage after the clutch has been released. Is that clear as mud :)

Like I said, I left mine on all the time. I had a 5 speed in my 96. I plan on doing the same thing with my new truck as soon as the Jacobs come out with one that will work. I don't need it until Spring. Have a great day.

EX Brake

It's funny to leave your Ex Brake on at a light when you have one of those little ricers next to you with the rap crap on and very loud :-laf

Steve, the only problem you might have is a rice rocket not paying attention and driving up your %$## :{

Bill... that is why I have a 10" drop hitch installed in my rear receiver hitch, even though I rarely use it. I usually pull our fiver with the CTD, and we pull the pop-up with the wife's Tundra. She also has a 6" drop hitch in the receiver all the time to keep ricer's from running under her behind. Something about that chrome ball lined up with their radiators keeps people back a ways, and I also fiigure it will help stop them from going under the truck if we ever do get rear-ended. :D :-laf

Thanks for all the replies guys. I have started using the e-brake a lot more than I used to.

My Jacobs e-brake has 145k on it, same as the truck. I use it as much as I use the clutch, brake, and throttle pedals. I use the shift lever mounted switch constantly. I'm actually a little surprised how well the system is enduring with no maintenance (on the jake brake) whatsoever.
