has any one installed a mini switch in the gear shift knob to control the e brake. i cant find the switch ,or maby i'm looking in thr wrong places. i looked at genos setup and that seems to be spendy for the little mini push in switch any help would be appr. thanks jim

We offer a machined bracket and switch assembly from pacbrake, you can see it on their web sight...

I've had 3 customers get a switch from Radio Shack and they have drilled a hole in the shifter lever and installed it... . 2 of the 3 later removed it... always was in the way when they shifted... the 3rd guy drives 60K a year, and has replaced it every 12-14 months... he carries a spare... says they aren't made well...

It seems to me that a switch mounted on the side of the knob might be better. . but I'm used to using the bracket and switch from Pacbrake... we have it on all of my trucks... .

Hope this helps. .

I agree with jelag that the PacBrake switch is the best solution. I would LOVE to have it, but I can't seem to bring myself to spend the $36 plus shipping for it. It's a nice switch, and a nice mount... but too spendy for what it is. If it were $20, I'd order one today.

I have a jacobs brake that sticks in the ON position from a dead stop. It takes upwards of 10 seconds for it to release. It would be nice if the switch were on my gear shift that way I could flip it to the off position once I'm close to being stopped. As it stands, I have to reach down under the dash to switch it off.

Minor irritation that could be solved with a gearshift mounted switch... if I weren't a tightwad. :)
