I ordered a new truck a couple of weeks ago and have a build date of 11/01/02. The dealer has the build sequence number. Does anyone know just when the new e-brake will be available? I have one on my 98. 5 and I hate to pull my trailer without one. My dealer says that he will put one on as soon as he can get one. Thanks.

The latest word is sometime in January. I am waiting for one as well. Cheers,

Casey

Picking up my new truck tomorrow, the Dodge JakeBrake should be available in January as per e-mail from JakeBrake. But only for trucks with the Stick shift. Hope to get the e-brake asap too.

Hey,

The dealer incentive program offering the Jake brake for a customer price of $299 does carry with it some strings. You must be "fleet" or show a commercial driver's license or show a business license in order to qualify for the incentive.

Well people, I did get to see a new HO 6-speed 3500 4X2 Dulley with the E-Brake installed on it! It was located at the local dealers here in Utah (Hinckley's Dodge/Ogden). The truck is an Official Rodeo Truck However, so it did not come from the factory with this installed at the factory. It was installed at the dealership! The truck had many, many decals that made sure the truck can easily be seen as a Rodeo truck! Even had a transparent Rodeo scene on the rear window! I was able to drive the truck as well, and the E-brake was very impressive! It does have a slight delay after initial movement of the switch before it operates, but not that long. The control for the brake is on the shift lever, and the valve that operates the E-brake is mounted on the rear of the passenger side battery box, and is vacuum operated/ electricly controlled.

Have one on order for my own 03' CTD! Just don't know when they will be available to the dealers.

That's good to hear, Wayne. I hope that means that the Jacobs will be available sooner instead of later. I was first told late Oct when I ordered. It really dosen't matter much because I can't get a hitch either grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr:mad:

Wayne,

Did you see if it had a boss for a pyro?

Thanks Ken

Thank you amsoilman,

It's hard to tell but was it an add on at the bottom of the elbow or did they replace the elbow. Sorry to bother you with these questions.

:)

Thanks Ken

Ken,

I can't tell you if it was an add on at the bottom of the elbow or not. To me it just looked like the entire E-brake unit was added to the turbo outlet. And I didn't see if it had a boss for a temp probe. I have a friend with an 03', and he installed his probe in the manifold, in the area where the three front cylinders meet the flange for the turbo. He drilled and tapped it.
