Ramboy, I saw the same article a couple of years ago when I was researching the topic. What I also found was another article that counter-attacked (i. e. the reduced area caused by the butterfly valve was designed oversized to begin with so the actual reduction was not even an issue). Every point made by one article is criticized by the other--depending on the vender. I figured that the makers of our engines knew what they were doing when they designed the Jacob's E-Brake. This is what I went with, and have never regretted it. It is also the only brake that I have never heard of a failure with. Best of all, it is driven off of the ECM.
