Eagle Alloy Series 102

Think I found the wheels I want. Eagle Alloy Series 102, 18x9. 5. Few questions: is 4-5/8" backspacing ok to go with? I don't mind if they stick out an inch or 2. I plan on getting fender flares. Anyone have these have these wheels, could you post a pic?



Also what size tires? 305/65 or 305/60? I am going with a 2" leveling kit unless they make a 2. 5" leveling kit.

Well, I'm not the most knowledgeable here, but I'm willing!



Yeah, I think stock backspacing is right at 6". Thus, going to a wheel with 4 5/8" backspacing would set the center line of the wheel out 1 3/8" farther than stock. If you are also running wider tires than came from the factory, the tires will stick out even farther. This may, or may not, be a problem for you, depending on what you're trying to accomplish. Fender flares of some sort would probably be in order.



As far as fitting larger tires without a lift, or with simply a leveling kit, it seems like the factory backspacing allows for the largest tires. People have been able to fit 35" x 12. 50" and 37" x 13. 50" tires on wheels with close to factory specs (5. 75" - 6. 125" backspacing), and only have minor rubbing at full lock on the upper and lower control arms.



When you start moving the wheels outward (i. e. less backspacing), the "swing" is alot wider, and will be more prone to rub. Maybe others will chime in, but as far as rubbing goes, width hurts you more than heighth.

Don't have a leveling kit yet, but I'm planning on installing the Lorenz 2. 25" suspension kit, which gives about 3" lift front, and 1" rear. Next go around, I plan to run a set of 37 x 13. 50 Toyo M/Ts... just found too good of a deal that I couldn't pass up! Will probably be June before there on though...

Okay, a little clarification here. Those rims will stick out just over 3 inches past the stock rims. Stock backspacing of 6 1/4 minus 4 5/8s for your rims means 1 5/8s out, PLUS the extra width of the wheel (1 1/2 inches) means 3 1/8 inches out from the outer edge of the stock wheel. Many wheel and tire sites have tutorials on backspace and offset.



As far as tires are concerned, I am unfamilliar with fitting tires around 33 inches tall - most go to 35s. The threshold for fitting 35s seems to be 5 inches of backspacing on a 9 inch wide wheel, where the tire starts to contact the rear fender/wheelwell liner during turning. I humbly suggest you try running more thread searches on the subject. You can even find pictures of example trucks that will give you a much better idea what you are getting into.
