Great site on finding and financing college

I got mine in 91 or 92 I think... I revamped an entire playground complex... it took about 5 times the work that was required for the project, but we had a riot doing it.

December 92 for me... We built a bridge and some access paths in a local park. Troop 155, Windsor, WI

Wow... haven't thought about that in awhile!

1981? Did bicycle inspections/registration in conjunction with the local PD.

Minsi Trails Council, Troop 89 Barrett Township, PA. Good times! I was lucky enough to go to three National Jamborees and Philmont, NM. Since I was in at the right time, I got the "Colonial Philadelphia" merit badge. Only offered in 1976, I think.

Summer of 94, I re-wired the lights in the parking lot at my church and re-did (paint etc) the sign out front. Very helpful local electric shop helped pull the wire through all the underground tubing. Took two saturdays to get it done but was a good time with the rest of the boys. Troop 169, Stillwater, MN and I had 3 other Eagles that I graduated H. S. with, and about 15 over 4-5 years while I was in scouting.

I had mine pinned on the day Earnhardt Sr won his Daytona 500. I rebuilt a trail in a city park for my project.

Me Eagle, no; but making up for it as a Scoutmaster. My two sons are, one converted an abandoned section of road into a walkway and did a bunch of flood control rockwork with it. The most educational part of that one was getting the city trails people and the county road people to work together and agree on something. :) (took months )

The next built a footbridge across a mountain lake spillway while another project was underway to cut the willows off the dam, the roots were degrading the structure. We had 50+ boys all working hard at the same time. We coordinated it with a spring camporee. It was quite a sight!

Philmont Rules

I never made it to Eagle but my brother (also a TDR member) did. He talked me into working at Philmont in '98 (He worked in the back country for 3 summers). Best summer of my youth.

Wow. I so wish I could have worked out there. I hope my son decides to get into scouting so he can take me back at least for one more treck.

Where were you at? I was crew leader in Aug 98 on my 2nd trip, we did south country on end of season treck.

I worked at base camp (security :-laf). Hard to get a job in the back country when you apply at the last minute. My brother was the Camp Director at Sawmill in '98. (. 30-06 rifle camp) It was an absolute blast! If youre a scouter, I can't recommend it enough.

Thats cool. Small world, huh? You had to be there when I was, might even have traded glances in the cafeteria or where ever as "faces in the crowd". And here we are. :)
