OK so I read a couple of posts in the archives that some of you guys were looking into the Eagle alloy series #114. But haven't read anything about how you like them if you got them. So chime in if you have any info like How far do they stick out? what size did you choose 17" or 18" which finish did you choose chrome or super finish? What does the super finish look like? which tires are you running. Also did you lose much power or milage with these bigger tires. Thanks all!!

As you can see... I have them, they have worked out well and I love the look on the truck. No complaints.

:D I just don't want everyone else putting them on their truck! :D

Couldn't be happier with mine. Went with chrome this time around. Over the years I've owned numerous polished wheels and all require regular maint to stay looking good. Not much time for that these days. I lost a little power and mileage but made it back (and a bunch to boot) with an intake and mild tuning box. Sizing details in my sig...

Not the greatest quality photos in the world, but these should be worth some idea of how they fit. (P. S. - to all latte-swilling soccermoms like the one who dinged my truck when it was less than a month old, let's see how your suv/minivan door fares against those Mickey Thompson sidebiters or my stainless nerf bars)

Cheers,
Mike

Razkul99 do you just have a leveling kit on your truck or is it lifted?? If it is just leveled, does it rub in full lock. Thanks, Mike

P. S. What kind of wear/life are you getting out of those Toyo's. .

If you order a set get the 18x9. 5 they have a 6 inch backspace and a +22 offset. Pretty close to stock.

I took a spin by the local tire shop a while back when a fella was getting that size put on and they looked real nice.

They were the super finish and looked real sharp, still shinny and a tad less bling than the chrome. If they are clear coated then maintenance should be no different.

While the back space was stock the 9. 5" wide calls for flares IMO. His truck didn't have the flares yet and they stuck out too much for him and will be getting flares. One thing I really like about this wheel is the short center cap that doesn't stick way out- looks nice.

Mike, I have the DRC Race system on the truck which essentially put about 2. 5" lift in the front and 1" lift in the rear. My eagle 114s are the 17x10 variety and at full lock they rubbed the wheel liner behind the front wheels. With a little bit of airsaw magic that is no longer an issue. :D

As for the Toyo tire wear, I have about 400 miles on the new tires and they still look new with some of the tire "teets" still showing... :-laf

To say I am happy with the improvements is a gross understatement.

Ya, they will stick out 1. 5 inches + the wider tire. Agree on the bling, chrome is a little much for four wheel truck. I don't mind a little polishing and 4 for the price of 1 weld wheel suits me fine. I could buy a set every two years for the next eight years for the price of welds. My fourth set will look better than the guy with chrome welds with 8 seasons on them.

A better fit might be their 133 series at 8. 5" wide and 5. 5" back space.

Those are cool. Funny to find this thread since I was considering the 114's.

Do we have choices when considering "fit"?

I am looking for new wheels and want to use my current BFG 315/70 R17's

What factors do I need to consider when choosing a "size"?

Am I limited to a 17x10 or are there configurations that look better?

What's up with backspacing? Does that have to do with fiting around the brake calipers, etc?

I'm clueless... thanks.

How about the new Centerline Crossfire size 17x8. 5 with 6" back space??

They look like this:

What's up with backspacing?
thats the distance from the rim edge in to the hub that fits against the truck measured from the back side.

The less back space the more the wheels stick out than your oem wheels.

114's for me!

This thread was the "closer" for me on these wheels . Had 17x10's put on last night. I live in the land of salted roads so chrome was a must. The guys at the shop hadn't seen them and thought the were ugly in the box. Once they were on the truck it was a different story.

The ride is much more "solid" feeling and they look sweet with the BFG AT 315/R70/17's but.....

It seems that with every mod I do, there is a domino effect and I need something else. The tires stick out a bit more than I'd like so fender flares are a must. I think my wife has learned to expect it.....

I try to get some pics to post...
