Neighbor's got an early 2000's Duramax with 110K miles on it. It's just started hazing a little at idle and will blow a little more smoke when revving it in neutral. It seems to idle and run as smoothly as ever, though it may now have a bit of a lope at idle. There's no sign of soot on the exhaust corner of his truck or on his fiver. It is pretty much bone stock. I think all he's replaced are front wheel bearings and/or ball joints. And tires.
He'll likely take it to his dealer for a checkup. What would *not* be unreasonable for the dealer to tell him? Fuel filter (which he typically overlooks)? Injectors are nearing EOL? One or two injectors are leaking? Would the dealer's computer be able to illuminate the problem? He wants a clue as to what he should reasonably expect.
Thanks!
