Early B-series engine?

A friend of mine was at alocal junk yard and was told by the owner that he had 4 early B engines for sale They are 6 cylinder with a one piece valve cover and GM bell houseings They came out of UPS trucks I heard of a A-series that was used in bread trucks but cant find any info I need to repower a IH 706 tractor and $350 is as cheep an engine as Ill find If any one can help please do

Single valve cover. Should be a 24v engine, unless it was an experimental engine, or they changed something for that app.

Definatly not 24valve These are mechanical engines

weren't those the 4cylinder? If so I love one as well.

Putting a 6B in a 706 would be a nice setup. It has been done before.
