I say we round up a bunch of members and drive a convoy there to help out with the cleanup. Who's with me?

...

LOL I guess they don't let you Michigonians out too much do they? LOL did you know there's like 3500 miles or so of OCEAN between the mainland and Hawaii?Unless we put paddles on our trucks we aren't going to convoy there. . :-laf

I hope I can get there My wife and I have had reservations for 2 months already. flying to the Isle of kauai on wednesday and staying for a week if they will let us. My wife is freaking about it :eek: . I haven't heard on the news if there was any damage on kauai, sounds like the big island and one other got it.

Bill;

Check with the air lines to see if there is cancelations. We have a few members over there, have not seen a post by them yet. Quake effected all the Islands, but word is slow coming out of the the island you are going to. Being further away, may not be much damage. Wait and see, you may want to put it off for a while.

Or hire a Cuban to build a boat out of the truck. :-laf :-laf

I will be there in ten days.

Planning to fly. Never tried to drive it. I was told there are no service stations with diesel fuel on the ocean. !!!!

We have friends there who say the sound was scary. They are on Maui. We were also told that ALL the islands were effected.

Many pictures were knocked off of the walls on Maui. Some rock slides too.

My son is a carpenter on Maui. He knows Willie Nelson's nephew and has been in Willie's house. Never did dope before since he is pretty much a cowboy C&W person, and I hope he is still into clean living:rolleyes: He also has worked on Ophrah Winfries???? house. He guides mountain bike tours on the weekends. Guess he is also a surf bum every day after work.

I guess the e-quake is probably making him think KA-CHING. :-laf

Didn't Heber Ram (the shift knob guy) move there?

It sounds like it wasn't too serious as far as damage, but it must've been scary. I'd hate to be on an island, so far from anything else, and feel like it was shaking apart. :eek:

(had it been more serious, my 1st post would've been also)

According to most of the maps I've seen lately, Hawaii is just a few miles west of Catalina Island. :-laf

Ol'TrailDog - - - Me thinks your right, the fog was heavy, but I wasn't far enough south - - - - and some of the locals had real strange habits that I didn't understand - - - somebody said something about loafers and almost no weight! Not sure what they were talking about.
