I'm pulling my trans on my 2005 Ram 2500, it's an automatic I thinks it's maybe the AAPS cable that is holding me up It's on driver's side of trans and the cable goes to this arm, that has a lot of clicks when you turn it. I'm about ready to cut the cable off (is it expensive, looks like it might be) The cable disappears into dash just to right of steering shaft.
I took a picture, but I'm on a phone, and don't have access to a real computer right now. I hate doing anything on the phone. Is this enough info?
What does this thing cost of I cut it, and can I cut it so I don't have to replace entire thing?
If necessary I'll try to have a friend post a picture.

Edit...... thought you might have had a older pre TTVA, but re read it and says goes into the cab, has to be the gearshift cable.

Maybe the pic and description below could help.

See below.

Disengage cable (1) eyelet at transmission manual shift lever (3) and pull cable adjuster out of mounting bracket.

I would like to take off that metal arm with the black end in the center of picture (unless there's a better way to get it off). I tried prying off that black plastic thingy off, but I can tell it will probably ruin it

Yeah thats the gearshift cable.

It should pop off the ball end of the manual valve on the back side.

I thought on you kinda push the parts together and pops it forward.
