Is it a simple deal to replace a stock OEM radio with the nicer OEM NAV radio? (I see that dodge sells an install kit including the new dash bezel with 2DIN opening). I am hoping its just a plug and play operation, I was going to buy an aftermarket nav radio but then I'd lose the Uconnect which I absolutely LOVE. I shoulda ordered the NAV radio with the truck... . hindsight...

I've been looking in to the same thing. If you go with an aftermarket unit you can get a kit for the uconnect.

Gifford,

What year truck do you have and where did you find the 2DIN dash bezel. I have an '03 and would like to put the new REC Nav in it but would like to find a good bezel to do it.

Any luck on finding out if it is plug and play?

Has anyone checked out Crutchfield? Just a thought.

I have had an upgrade in mind also, but mostly because the FM sensitivity (how well the tuner section pulls in stations, especially in hilly areas) is p!ss poor on the OEM unit.

Ok i haven't been able to figure out if the OEM navigation radio plays dvds, or if it just downloads navigation information from dvds.

REC Nav is a plug and play direct replacement. Buy the unit, buy a double din bezel and spend an hour swapping it. They usually come with the Nav antenae... it plugs in an there is a special place for it under the flat dash panel.

Does not play DVD's, but it uses a DVD for Navigation, there is a place where you can send it and they will fix it to play DVD's... for about $400... no thanks.

I did the swap to my 06'... got the nav as a new take out on e-bay for $700 came with antenae and nav dvd.

I love it.
