I was wondering if anyone knows what of the two locker which is the best to buy for a pullling truck that you want to drive on the road. Eaton is cheaper and also is easery to install. ARB is old and proven. Which is the best
 
The ARB is proven to be strong-- I dunno how strong the Eaton is, but I've heard good things about it.



If it was me, I'd make sure it was a full carrier replacement (which I think both are).



If you want a locker for the rear, then an ARB is your only option for a D80 (like mine). So I figured that since I'd have to plumb air for the rear ARB, you might as well go with ARB up front, too.



If you're only locking the front, then you have more options, as the D60 has more aftermarket coverage than a D80.
 
There are other options for a locker in the rear, such as a detroit. Half the cost of the ARB but, you cannot turn it on and off. I have an ARB in the front of mine, with something like 13 hooks on it. My impression: flawless, works perfect everytime. One more note, on the anti-spin rear ends, you can restack the clutches at no cost to give yourself quite a bit more "posi" action.
 
I have noticed that there is a big difference in cost, i am a big beleaver of you get what you pay for. But on the other hand, think you might be paying for the ARB name. I have not heard of anthing bad about the eaton yet but the ARB has been around for ever. Is anyone running the Eaton for truck pulling beside the GMC boys.
 
I am positive you have to go with an ARB part # RD96 because you have 32 spline inner shafts and not the older 30 spline inners. However don't misconstrue your inners and outers, your outer shafts are still 30 spline.
