Otr Truck/tractor Info?

I'm just about to fire my truck up and I had my buddy come over with his tow truck and move my truck to my new shop and he drug the truck a little ways before he realized it was in gear. Then after I hooked up all of the new air lines for the transmission, I hooked my air compressor up to the lines in place of the bendix compressor and checked for leaks. Now, I can't get the clutch pedal to go in. I don't know if one or the other had anything to do with it but before I moved the truck and before I pressure tested the air lines I could push the clutch in and out freely. Any suggestions. Did I hurt something?

Eaton,Fuller Roadranger Problem???

Id pull the inspection cover if your able to and see if the clutch didnt flip around (the linkage ) even if it was pulled in gear the clutch would still move ,is it locked in gear , can you turn the yoke ????

What gear was it in while he was towing it? And how far is a little ways 1/2 mile,... 5 miles? Where you standing there when he took it out of gear? Did he have to force it out of gear?

If he pulled it forward while the transmission was in reverse then you could have busted the synchronizer dowels in the rear section,... just a thought.

If the transmission shift tower is worn and he could not step down on the clutch to release gear tention and had to force the shifter back to neutral then I'd remove the shift tower and look to see if all the shifter rail's are actually lined up across the shift top and in the neutral postion

Since this doesn't seem to be fixed yet, I'll give my 3$.

The engine transmission combination could have rotated enough to either bend, overcenter, or other wise screw up the linkage between the pedal and the housing.

Maybe could have broken a motor mount also.

Unless this thing was loaded though, Im surprised it just didn't slide the axles.

The question from CumminsDoofus regarding gear is a good one. If it was a high gear it should have roated the engine. But it was most likely a low gear to keep the vehicle from moving.

In my opinion big trucks should never be left in gear. That is what Spring Brakes are for.

Did you have the transmission out??? Why were the air lines disconnected?? I have worked on and rebuilt more Road Rangers than I can count, I need more info.

I should probably let everybody know that the transmission is fine!!! He only slid the truck 3-4 feet. I did have the air lines disconnected but I think they are all fine now. I think it may have been the return spring which was worn out and over stretched. I replaced the spring and it seems to be fine. The yoke spins freely in neutral and locks up when in gear. I'm trying to get it started and will let you know if there are any issues. Thanks for all of the help.
