I Bought A 94 3500 Dually Off Of Ebay 3 Weeks A Go, And Still Fixing Oil Leaks. This Person Said You Can Go Any Where In It. The Truck Was Clean As For The Outside, The Inside Need A Good Cleaning. The Truck Had 214,000 Miles Rear Main Leaks, The Oil Drain Plug Leak, Front Seal Leak Along With The Timing Cover Inturn I Had To Fix The Kdp Anyway. If I Keep This Truck Or Sell It Will Have All Of These Problems Fixed Before I Mislead Any Body In Selling A Truck And I Will Tell You Everything That Is Wrong And Right.

Sorry Just Had To Vent A Little And Has Any Body Else Been Miss Lead By Sellers On Ebay. When You Went To Pick Up Your Truck

Are What Ever Yo May Have Purchased

I have purchased two trucks on ebay, including my current 97' 12V. I have also sold vehicles on ebay. They have all been positive experiences. Sorry to hear that yours was not. I always check feedback ratings, previous transactions and if buying a vehicle, I will call the seller and talk to them about the deal and car condition. Also, in my ebay car purchases, I have never sent full payment ahead of time, the money was exchanged when I met the seller in person and after I saw the car. Because I my positive feedback rating, I have never sent a deposit either. Most honest, seasoned ebay sellers that are dealing with another seasoned ebay buyer, will be willing to handle all of the money transaction when you arrive to pick up the car. Anyway, these are my experiences and when I get ready to buy another car, I will be looking on ebay.

I havent had any problems, yet. I bought my 96 on ebay for dirt cheap(565000miles), and got what i paid for. Truck was in excellent shape but it leaked oil every where and ran like crap. I spent 100 bucks in gaskets and gave er a good old tune up and she runs like its got 20000 miles on it. Like Erik said, I guess it sounds like that guy really didnt care about gettin good feedback.

Its all about feedback on the bay, well most of the time.

that's actually where I got my CTD as well -> Ebay :)

For the price I paid, I knew there was going to be stuff that needed attention, but it still was a good deal and exactly what I was looking for :) And at least this way I could do all the stuff MY way :D

We picked up a 92 this past weekend that we purchased on e-bay. It was everything the seller promised, and i thought a good deal. Just like everything else, there is good and bad on e-bay. Randy

I would never buy anything without looking at it first. and with that kind of mileage, you cant really expect it to be perfect. I understand the seller misled you and that sucks. If I am spending that much or buying a vehicle in general, I have to inspect it THOROUGHLY!

I have bought several things on Ebay. So far no problems. I guess the saying goes- "buyer beware"

i found my truck through ebay but he ended the listing so i didn't buy it on ebay, it had 304k and ran ok (now i know better it ran like crap) looked ok and drove ok, the only real money i had to spend was front wheel bearing/hubs on both sides and front brakes, but i think i wound up with a decent deal 4k miles later

I have bought two trucks off eBay now and both have been a positive experience. I do make it a point to get the sellers phone number and call them and speak with the directly before deciding to make the purchase or not.

Everyone seems to forget one thing. Used cars over 10 years old are bound to have leaks. Not everyone is a car expert and some are just trying to hide damage. I just sold an MB diesel 300td wagon. It ran EXCELLENT, have a good oil drip from the pan and turbo tube. It was not a big deal but one reason i was selling the car. I did not want to work on it anymore. The people came, never checked for leaks, never asked about them. They offered me 4500 and asking price was 5000. I took it and they were happy. I am required to disclose that is had an oil drip, no. The car is 25 years old now and oil leaks are normal in older cars.

Used cars are buyer beware, you must look the car over good before buying. I always do, is it my fault that other people do not? NO.

Ebay is a little different, you shoudl disclose all since buyers are unable to look at the car. However, you need to assume on a 10+ year old car that has over 200k miles that is is going to have leaks and other issues. Hence the lower ebay price...

I bought my 97 on Ebay from Texas with 120K miles 3 years ago. The backup lights didn't work and taillights had bad bulbs, and fuel gage didn't work. I did not expect it to be perfect so I just fixed everything. Truck was cheaper than I could find in Calf and had everthing I wanted. I'm satisfied even though I had it shipped to me and didn't see it. I did buy from a dealer.
