I had the "dead pedal" also! Replaced the VP, Apps, and now I'm running an HO ECM. My problem was at 1800 RPM the truck would just seem to shut down HARD! Put the new VP on... ... same thing, put a loaner APPS on..... same! Put the loaner HO ECM on (which noone said would work) and It's up and running but seems to be clattering louder and a slight stumble on the bottom. So now I'm looking into a MAD ECM or to reflash the HO to a SO or replace the stock one. Decisions, Decisions

Mine is the 2001. 5 6spd

To Dieselminded

Looking at all your troublecodes my suggestion is to look at the voltage reference line, this is usually a 5voltsthat the PCM sends to all its sensors. If that 5volt gets shorted to ground all the sensors that use that 5volt will read low. When trouble shooting a situation like this, I usually look for work that has recently been done that may have pinched the harness. Another possiblility is one of the sensors that is supplied by the 5volt reference could be shorting internally, pulling the 5volts to ground. To find this kind of failure hook a volt meter to the 5volt reference line at the PCM and disconnect the sensors that are supplied by the reference line, one at a time.

Its really unusuall to have two bad ECMs its more likly to have a wiring problem causing what seems to be an ECM problem. Chaffing wires can be inadvertently moved temporaraly fixing your problem. If it is a chaffed reference wire, and it does find the short again you will have another pile of low sensor codes. You can only trouble shoot a shorted reference line when the short exists. If its running fine now, nothing more can be done. I was giving you these suggestions if you have another failure.

DM, maybe if we chained your hood closed and kept the key, you might have less problems!!! Did you use an arc welder on that down pipe without disconnecting your batteries???? SNOKING
