Got my Quick Check II today and I'm still waiting for my Palm III that i got from Ebay to come so I cant read the CD rom from CUmmins on the install. I looked under the hood on the driver side for the capped ECM plug the the Quick CHeck will plug into and its like looking for a needle in a hay stack. Anyone have a clue where it is? Should be a triangle Deustche type plug.

Thanks in adavnce

the ECM is located on the firewall behind the air filter.

Check out the plug down by the brake pedal on the bottom of the dash

If I am not confused the plug you need is the same plug a edge Ez box plugs into. If you look down behind the fuel filter on top of the lift pump you should see the connection you need. On most trucks there is a blank plug that has to be removed before you can plug in your adapter.

It might also be down by the power steering pump, thats where mine was. Mine was the flat 3 pin connector also.

I thought the 2001's had the flat plug?

Mine is a 2001. 5 and its flat.

the plug is located under the fuel filter assmbly. Will probably be just kind of hanging there, and it will have a cap that needs to be removed.

Since its sold by cummins I would imagine the Quick Check II hooks up to the ECM plug, unlike a OBD II scan tool that plugs into the plug on the bottom of the dash.

Any one heard of this scan tool

The one behind the air filter is the PCM. The ECM is located on the side of the engine, behind the fuel filter.

THe plug you are looking for will be on top of the lift pump bracket (early to mid-'01) or in the wiring harness near the lift pump, and towards the middle of the engine. It will be a flat 3-pin connector with a blank in the end of it.
